Vehicle Detail

UP 4 SALE is a well preserved 1970 Pontiac Catalina 400 Convertible Top; a rare gem, original survivor in excellent condition. Only 31,303 original miles. Pontiac 400 Engine. The car has no visible body damage or dents and does not appear to have ever been involved in any type of crash (I only know its history from the current owner who's had it for 10 years.) It has a clean New York State Title. It's almost completely stock with the exception of having had a Jensen cassette receiver and rear speakers installed along with an ignition disabling alarm/security system. There is a small area of paint over-spray which hints of some paint touch-ups or perhaps a complete paint job (see fuzzy picture of door seam showing chip) In either case, the refinishing was done to professional standards and the paint shines up really nice as the pictures demonstrate. This car has not been driven in winters and shows no signs of visible corrosion nor surface rust in any of the paint finish surfaces where it typically manifest; including door jambs, wheel and fender wells and engine compartment. (there's surface rust on the water pump and some pealing on the stock valve covers. See pictures. The Pontiac Catalina 400 Convertible features - It is bright red with a black top and black interior 400 Cu. in. GM engine with a Rochester 2-Barrel carb (runs very smooth and quiet) Auto Transmission Power Steering Power Brakes Auto Convertible Top (looks great) Black Seats (very clean) Black carpet (very clean) The car has not been on the road since 2004, but starts right-up. It has been garage kept under cover with damp prevention control where it remains to date. This 40 year-old beauty is almost showroom condition and I believe it could be with minimal quality touch-up of the following: Hairline crack in lower left corner of windshield. It's about 7" long...it's over the inspection sticker, not very noticeable (it took me 3x looking at the car before I saw it). See picture. Small pen-tip-size tear in left side upper corner of rag top. It looks like an attempted repair was done but needs re-application. See picture. An amateur repair of an apparent paint blister on right rear tail light area which prevented any corrosion but can be much better done by a paint blending expert. The Chrome on the front bumper grille of the car is showing some signs of aging with a bit of fading and roughness in conspicuous spots, but still shines up really nice. Rear bumper is much more preserved. Shipping or local pick up is the responsibility of the buyer. This is a private sale and the vehicle is sold as is without any written or stated warranty.
