This beautifully painted 1971 Volkswagen Westfalia camper is hoping to find a winning bid, and some emergency restoration.Purchased down South decades ago, this bus was in the family and well taken care of for many years.The current engine was purchased new and is 1600 cc / bored out to something or another for higher performance.My stepfather gifted it to me about 6 years ago, at that time the engine had 4000 miles on it.I drove it around locally and put on about 1200 or 1500 miles. I don't go without painting my vehicles nowadays, and I can guarantee from experiencethat this bus is a real crowd-pleaser. I counted about 700 or so photo seekers since I've had it parked out over the past 3 months. When she was on the road, I would get about 100 smiles to the gallon. About 3 years ago I sold the bus to a fellow artist friend.He parked it outside of his studio, and there it sat.Getting lots of attention, but not driven... until one day a flash flood nearly washed it down river.Flood waters moved the bus about 75 feet until it was nudged against his house,saving it from the rushing current. After the flood he moved it back to his yard, and decided to sell his house.Upon doing so the bus was towed back to my place.I gutted the interior as it was way beyond repair.As you probably know, there is still hope for this bus,but none that I nor my friend can offer. It is being sold as is in non-running condition.The ignition key has been lost.The title is clear.Some rust , but not a goner by far. Please help this famous bus !!
