We are selling our daughters Ford Probe. It would not start for her one day and the mechanic at Ford told her she needed a distributor and would charge her 900.00. We towed the car home and replaced the distributor, cap and rotor. After replacing these parts, the car still failed to start. After much investigation and contacting another Ford mechanic, we found that the emergency fuel shut-off located in the trunk was not operating properly. Unfortunately for us, due to many extenuating circumstances, we are unable to find the time to continue with the repairs. We feel it will be a fairly easy fix for anyone with the time to do so. It has been a very reliable car. The A/C and heat were operating properly the last time we drove the car. The paint on the hood/roof is a bit faded. The purchaser will need to have the car towed home at their expense.
