Vehicle Detail
I bought this panel for its excellent sheetmetal, inside and out. It has no engine, transmission, driveshaft, brake master, steering column and wheel, or seats. I don't know what the rearend came from, but it's more modern. I will add pictures of the underside and any other areas you would like to see. I want it understood that this is in no way road ready; it is a project body with clean Colorado title. It is a very worthy shell for rod or restoration, as there have been no modifications which would prevent either choice. In fact, the side cutouts are not a modification brought to you by the folks with the mushrooms and Maltese crosses; the side windows are an original professional modification said to have been made by Henney Coach Company for an ambulance conversion. In support of that story, there are rolled edges and a complete set of interior steel surround moldings included. This truck wears its original paint - one coat. If you're not seeing red, you're looking at the original steel. No holes, no dubious scabby areas, just solid workable steel. There are bumps and dings, the very worst of which is the drivers rear corner. As pictured, that is the greatest challenge a bodyman would face, and most would describe it as a routine dent repair. Roof and body contours are as Ford produced them - no kids jumping on the roof, never wrecked, no bullet holes, no previous body repair found. The hood and RR door were substituted before I got the truck (white parts in pictures), but I can say that the replacement parts are nice, too, save for crappy paint. The interior is dry and clean, with all floor and side panels clean and straight. If you ever had one of these in mind for a project, this would be a great one to start with. I was going to overlay the side window openings with sheetmetal company signage to return it to an enclosed cargo area; you might want to install frosted glass and a knockdown gurney to bring it back as an ambulance. Please examine all pictures closely - all the small parts included are in very nice condition, and complete trim and emblems are present. By the time I hung the hood on, it was already getting dark, so I'll add a daylight shot soon. If you see it, it's included. Everything I have for this truck is in the pictures, and I'll be happy to answer questions and take different pictures of what's there, but I won't be able to explain or describe the missing pieces. The truck is stored in a fenced, paved, secure lot (where it's been for the last few years without me getting to it), and it can remain there to accomodate your pickup schedule. For transport estimation purposes, it' located in Denver Colorado 80223, right next to I-25. It rolls well, and can be steered by hand, and I could probably rig a parking brake if that's an issue. Feel free to ask about anything I haven't covered - for now I'll let the pictures tell the story. Thanks for Looking! Dan Larson
