I am reluctantly selling my 1989 FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser that I have spent the last couple years restoring to an almost new condition. The vehicle spent most of its life in California (check CARFAX after inspection) and has virtually no rust. It was owned by people that only used the vehicle to travel the highways with occasional off-road excursions. I purchased the vehicle with the intention of restoring to an excellent version of this iconic vehicle. I have driven the vehicle carefully and no extreme off-road abuse. I have restored the engine, major mechanical components and interior. Engine work includes removal, dismantling and inspection. Then replacement of all internal bearings and seals, grinding the crankshaft, replacement of valves, rings, push rods, oil lifters, oil pump,rocker arm assembly, installation of a new RV-grind camshaft (more torque and HP). Verification of factory tolerances and specifications, reassembly. Also replacement or upgrade of other major mechanical components- radiator, starter motor, alternator, fuel pump, hoses, belts. Upgrades of tires to BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T and wheels to aluminum alloy. The interior has been gutted and extensively cleaned to the body metal. The carpeting and felt have been upgraded with OEM materials to create sound and temperature insulation better that original. The shifting mechanism has been rebuilt. The vehicle runs very well and is rock solid on temperature and oil pressure and has smooth shifting and power band. This vehicle current has 253,900 original miles with under 2600 miles on the engine rebuild. It has many hundreds of thousands of miles to go. This vehicle always attracts attention and will serve any future owner extremely well. The vehicle is fully functional, virtually indestructible the four wheel drive system is still one of the best on the road with limited-slip differential and is incredible in snowy and challenging driving situations. There are still a few cosmetic areas that can use some work for anyone that is interested doing a bit of their own tinkering with this great vehicle.
