Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very nice looking and great running 1989 Mercedes Benz 300TE Station Wagon. This was originally a $52,000.00 vehicle when new and it shows in the engineering of it (very German). Engine: This has a Mercedes inline 6 cylinder gas engine. The engine runs very strong (based on how it drives and what I see on the oil pressure gauge). It also runs nice and cool (based on the vehicles temperate gauge) even in hot weather. New Stuff: Voltage regulator, battery, distributor, vacuum hoses, spark plugs, California Registration (good for the next year), California Smog Certificate. Miles Per Gallon: You can expect to get about 20 miles per gallon. Reliability: I wouldn't hesitate to drive this vehicle across the country. Handling: It has great handling and cornering with a really nice solid feel when driving at freeway speeds. Comfort: This is the most comfortable vehicle to drive that I have ever owned because of all the many electric seat adjustments available (up, down, forward, backward, headrest, the angle of the seat bottom, etc). Seriously, it is so comfortable for me to drive on the freeway that I could almost fall asleep...but I don't. Flip a switch and the leather seats heat up for cold days too. It also has cold AC and a good heater. Roomy: This Mercedes Benz 300TE Station Wagon has a third seat so can easily and comfortably seat 7 adults. You can also fold down the back seat (and the third seat) totally flat and put tons of stuff back there as it is very roomy. I just moved using this station wagon and was amazed at how much stuff I could stuff in there...even a 9' long surfboard will fit inside this vehicle! It also helps having adjustable the racks on the top too. A friend has the same vehicle and has used it many times to camp with because of how nicely flat the back seats fold down (and he is over 6' tall). Exterior Body & Paint: There are a couple tiny little dings from other peoples doors and some scratches in the paint here and there, but overall the body is very straight and the paint is very good and shiny with NO oxidation and NO peeling of the clear coat. There is one small dent on the left side of the back tailgate that would probably be easy to pop out (You can see this dent in the photo of the tailgate left side where it says "300TE"). This is still a very nice looking vehicle. Interior: There is some checking (little cracks) in the leather seats here and there but NO holes. The carpet and mats are pretty clean looking. The headliner is clean with NO tears. The dashboard is very clean with NO cracking. Sunroof: It has a power sunroof that works perfectly with NO leaking. Tires: The tires are good with a high of 100% rubber left (as in brand new) to about 75% rubber left. Glass: All glass is in perfect condition with NO cracks and all power windows go up and down like normal. Lights: All the exterior lights work great (headlights, turn signals, brake lights) but some of the interior bulbs need replacing. Vehicle Paperwork: The paperwork is ready to go. I have a clear title for this vehicle in my name, a recent California Smog Certificate, and I just renewed the California Registration that is good for the next year until next December 2011. Warranty: This vehicle is being sold on an "as is" and "where is" basis with no warranty expressed or implied by the seller. Delivery Of Vehicle: This vehicle is located in San Diego, California and the new buyer will be responsible for pickup and delivery of this vehicle. Questions: I have tried to give a good feel and representation of the vehicle with my previous description and the photos below, but please feel free to ask any questions you might have. Bidding: Please, please, please do NOT bid unless you are serious about buying this vehicle AND that you have the US funds available immediately to pay for it. Deposit & Payment: I will accept that your $500 deposit is paid through Paypal but I do NOT want the balance paid through Paypal unless you are willing to pay the extra charges incurred to me from Paypal. Otherwise we can make arrangements for you to pay me in person in San Diego, or your funds can be wired to my back account. Release Of Vehicle: I will not release this vehicle until all funds have been cleared in my bank account. Scammers: I am totally aware of all the stupid time wasting 419 scams so please don't waste my time sending me bogus cashiers checks from Nigeria or wherever, because again, this vehicle will NOT be released to its new owner until all funds have been cleared in my bank account. Fair enough? Good. On Dec-07-10 at 11:42:28 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: 1) IGNITION: I forgot to mention that the ignition tumbler cylinder (the thing you put your ignition key in to start the car) is new. 2) DISTRIBUTOR: I said in my description for the "New Stuff" that this vehicle has a new distributor only because that is what the previous owner told me. However, I just looked at the receipts and it was only the distributor cap and rotor that are new. Sorry about that. On Dec-10-10 at 15:37:04 PST, seller added the following information:UPDATE: I also forgot to mention this in the "New Stuff" part of my description, but all of this was also replaced/repaired in the last year too... Fuel pump relay, AC freon recharge, some vacuum hoses, coolant temperature sensor, belt tensioner, tensioner rod.
