Vehicle Detail
I am happy to offer for sale my stunning 67,000 original mile 1966 Austin Healey Mk III BJ8 roadster. This is an extremely original, three owner, well documented and well maintained Healey, finished in its correct factory Colorado Red over black interior. Its three owners have cared for this vehicle the way all Healey owners should. This is a very special and beautiful car. The body is exceptional and the paint is gorgeous. All panels fit as they should and the paint is deep and lustrous with little if no imperfections. The chrome and trim is outstanding. The car has new and correct 72 spoke chrome wire wheels that are wrapped in new Pirelli tires. The original soft top was recently replaced with a new factory correct Moss Motors black soft top. The plastic is crystal clear. The interior is original and in great shape. The seats have very minimal wear showing a beautiful light patina. The dash is free of any warping or cracking. The wood is in good condition. This is a gorgeous and unmolested original Healey in exceptional shape. The car is in superior mechanical condition. The car just underwent a full service where it received a full brake service, radiator recore, new water pump and hoses, new fuel pump, etc. The car certainly drives like a 67k original mile Healey. The compression is excellent. It always fires right up without any smoke or unusual sounds or vibrations. This has been an occasional weekend driver for me and I have nothing negative to report on its drivability. I encourage and I am more than happy to help facilitate a professional inspection by an Austin Healey expert anywhere in my area. It's an absolute joy cruising down the highway, roaring through the canyons or even just tooling around on a Sunday afternoon, getting waves and thumbs up from onlookers. This is a very special car that will not disappoint you. I hope that the new owner of this beautiful BJ8 roadster will cherish it and care for it like its previous enthusiast owners have. Thank you for your consideration. I want this car to go to a great home, so please feel free to email me or give me a call at (805) 886-1823 if you have any additional questions or would like to make a deal. While I have a California dealer license, I’m not your typical dealer. I’ve always had an appreciation for classic European cars and have always bought and sold them to create a kind of very small revolving personal collection, which, up until this posting, has contained the Austin Healey you’re currently looking at. I try to give accurate descriptions of the cars I’m selling, but I’m not an expert and I encourage and am happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms my ability to make sales with other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however I'd be more than happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction's end. Thanks for your interest.
