Vehicle Detail
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: I have for sale a nice 1965 Mustang coupe: This car has beautiful viper red paint “it shines like a red ruby”, the interior is super nice red and white Pony, the V8 engine runs like a scalded dog, the 3 speed automatic transmission shifts as it should, the disc brakes stop good, the chrome sparkles and the glass is crystal clear. MILEAGE: 39649 showing, so I’m sure it would really be 100,000 in addition to that. Most everything is new or has been replaced. : HISTORY: I bought this car from a guy near Atlanta, Georgia. He restored it about a for himself, but now has another project started that he want the money from this car to spend on it. He is a self employed car painter. This car started life with a 6 cylinder engine, it have been converted to a V8 and all the front-end replaced with V8 stuff, 5 lug wheels and the rear-end has been converted to a V8 rear-end. Lots of cars has been done that way, reason being its hard to find a good body at a fair price. The only way to tell that its been converted is to decode the VIN. TITLE: Clear Georgia registration of title in hand with all documents needed. VIN: 5T07T149851 This is the VIN on the title, on the VIN/trim tag, and body under the right fender. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? None that I can find, he did replace some flat bottom of the floor pans. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: You will not complain about the paint job! Its Viper red was painted with a base/coat and 3 coats of clear on top. It was then sanded and buffed to a super high gloss. No dents, no dings, no scratches and no rust bubbles. I see only a very thin touched up place on the side edge of the door. PANEL FIT: This is a classic Mustang and they are not famous about good fits, they where produced fast and Fords standards were not real high. To answer the question, the fit is OK, the gaps vary a little, but its not a $50,000 show car with a $20,000 paint job, ITS A NICE DRIVER AND ABOUT THE WAY FORD SENT THEM OUT OF THE FACTORY“. CHROME: New or replaced, the worst thing I see is a corner of the stainless steel that fits in the rear glass rubber sticking up a little on the lower corner. INTERIOR: Pony red and white interior that’s a year old, "its beautiful" the only thing I can find is a super tiny bad place on the drivers side seat (its on the outside edge where the seat rubs as it is moved forward and back). The dash pad looks good other than it is wavy at the edge where it goes under the windshield rubber “some of the aftermarket parts are junk”. The interior is beautiful, you have to look with a critical eye to see the things I just listed. UNSERSIDE: No issues, its just not sanded and finished like a show car, its done to driver quality. GLASS: Clear! The side windows roll up and down good. WEATHERSTRIPPING/RUBBER: Good. ENGINE: The engine runs great with no blue smoke and no unwanted noises. It is not the original engine, it’s a 302 that fits the mounts perfect and looks just the same. It has a new 4 barrel Holley carburetor. COOLING SYSTEM: New high dollar aluminum radiator with electric helper fan. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Dual GT style exhaust with Flow Master mufflers, car has the deep loud Pony car sound. ANY RATTLES: The only rattle I have heard is in reverse, its from the exhaust system on the right side, when the engine torque is applied in reverse the exhaust system moves in the opposite direction, its just does it sometimes and its in reverse, I can move the system over a little, but I have not because there are no rattles in forward gears and I don't want to cause one. TRANSMISSION: C4 automatic 3 speed that shifts good. REAR-END: Ford 8 inch with the standard 5 lug pattern BRAKES: Disc on the front, non power, but stops good. STEERING: Manual steering, the car drives good. All the linkage is the heavy V8 stuff. WHEELS AND TIRES: Last 60s Mustang Style Steel wheels that are in super nice condition with new radial tires. LIGHTS: They work. RADIO: After market am/fm with CD, its just a cheap radio. GUAGES: They are mounted in a pod under the dash, this is old school, but good. HORN IS NOT WORKING! SPEEDOMETER IS WORKING! GAS GAUGES IS WORKING! PARKING BRAKE IS NOT WORKING! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? Good, but the rubber is tight and you have to close a little hard. THE REST OF THE DECRIPTION IS BORING IF YOUR A LOOKER, BUT IF YOUR BUYING YOU WILL WANT IT! THE GAME: I don’t play the game like most sellers! I tell you who I am, how to contact me, where the vehicle is located, lots of details and welcome you to come and look at the vehicle. I don’t put my vehicles up for auction because it a big joke, most sellers just have their buddy’s bid the auction up to what they want. Read the who your buying from section, I’m 64 years old, I have been a auto mechanics instructor, was an instructor in the US Army aviation school for Chinook helicopters and sold a good business to retire and play with classic cars. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday night. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT IF THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT! WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 64 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 41 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. Call Steve at 913-749-0948 Email stevens@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75)and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. Option 4: Pay Pal is good, but it cost a lot. It cost me around 3%, I will take it, but you will have to add 3% to the price. WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Not without a deposit! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit your just looking and dreaming”. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! TRADES: Please no trades! PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com “I recommend and welcome you to come and look at this vehicle”. IS THERE A WARRANTY? No!
