Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for auction is a 1967 VW truck. Let me start off by saying this is the most fun truck I have ever owned. It will get more looks and comments than anything on the road. It is not a show truck, but very, very solid for its age. I typically drive it at least 20 miles a day with no problems. Mechanically it is very sound. The engine runs like a sewing machine with no knocks or flaws of any kind. I do not know the mileage, but it has good compression and no end play in the main bearings. The transaxle is tight never pops out of gear and shifts smooth through all. The gear reduction boxes have been removed and it currently has a beetle transaxle in the rear. It will do highway speeds smoothly without a lot of whine. The entire truck has been lowered on all four corners the front beam was cut and welded so it is lowered the right way. It has an overall very smooth ride, not stiff but not bouncy either. The interior has been gone through and touched up all gauges work as well as all electrical components. It has all new rubber seals everywhere and all new latches and clips. The front windows are safari style which means they will open out away from the truck to let in cool air during those hot summer days. The entire cab has had sound deadening material laid in it so it actually has a very quiet ride for such an old truck. The body is currently painted in a flat satin finish that really gives it a unique look. As far as rust goes the bed is the worst area with a few sections needing repair. These areas have been treated and covered with paint so they will not get any worse. The rest of the truck is solid. The front floors, cargo area (treasure chest), rockers and rear corners are in perfect shape. If you bought a rusty truck and did everything to it to make it like this one you would have way more than my reserve price in it. Restored versions of these trucks can bring $15,000 up!! It seriously would take very little to make this a nice restoration, but honestly it is just as fun to drive it the way it is. The only reason I am selling is its time to move on to other projects (the list is too long). I have tried to detail the truck as much as possible in the pics if you need more just let me know. On Dec-03-10 at 10:42:18 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of people ask about the motor and I just relized I had not posted any pictures. I have just loaded some pictures of the motor for everyone to see. It is a bone stock 1500cc, it does have a new carb and a recent tune up. It has a compufire ignition so no more points are required. Also it has a fully ceramic coated exhaust system so that should never rust plus it has a polished aluminum look. If I can answer any more questions please don't hesitate to ask.
