Vehicle Detail
RE-LISTED because the buyer could not complete the purchase due to health problems. I recently bought this car and was going to part it out and use the chassis for a vintage race car build, but I've realized I don't have the time to build it out in full race configuration so I am selling it. It has a lot of spare parts with it. Here are the details broken down by part... MOTOR: It has the original 1,438 cc motor that runs good and doesn't smoke. I think it has been rebuilt at some time because the block is painted orange and there isn't any over spray on any of the components so it had to be painted with the motor out of the car. I was told the aftermarket Weber carb is a 32/36 but I don't know what model it is. I have the linkage in a box but it needs to be hooked up. Aftermarket Crane Cams electronic ignition system and coil. Fairly new electric fuel pump. Doesn't smoke, no knocks or strange sounds. The radiator is good and has green anti freeze in it with no leaks under pressure when the motor is warm. I was told it has a 65 amp alternator upgrade. I have a digital video of the motor running I can e-mail if you would like to see it. TRANSMISSION: It is a 5 speed, but without the accelerator linkage hooked up I can't drive the car so I don't know how it shifts under load. I had it on a lift and with the motor running at about 1200 rpm it went through all 5 forward gears and reverse and it seemed to shift ok and didn't make any strange noises. BRAKES The brakes work fine pulling it on and off the trailer and they seemed OK when I moved it but, I have not driven it at road speeds. BODY: As you can see in the pictures, it isn't perfect but has potential and I think could be an easy restoration. The previous owner welded in new floor pans and did some rust repair in a few other areas, but the body exterior is in surprisingly good condition. It has a dent right in front of the passenger side door that can be fixed but not much rust at all on any of the body panels. The doors have a little rust on the bottom of them but not bad and can be easily repaired. The hood is missing the passenger side hinge but those are easy to find. All of the glass is good and the windows operate. It needs a new top, but the frame looks to be good other than needing some WD40 on the joints. Includes a like new ANSA original equipment style rear muffler and pipe section that I just bought from IAP and had installed on another car. The front bumper is missing, the rear bumper is in decent shape but has some surface rust. Other than missing the one headlight, the lights and lenses are good. Includes 4 additional slotted mag wheels (see picture). INTERIOR: The original bucket seats are in excellent condition and even the pans are good, with just surface rust on them. The back seat is good but has 3 small cuts in it behind the passenger, but not bad at all. In the pictures you can see some indentations in the seats from things that were sitting on the seats over time but they are not cuts or tears. For some reason the previous owner put a drivers side seat in it from a Honda Civic but it can be taken out and the original seat bolted back in. The wood dash panel that the gauges are mounted in is not the original wood and would need to be replaced. EXTRA PARTS: A complete steering column, 2 ignition switches and a bunch of other stuff. See the pictures. TITLE: Clear Kentucky title from the previous owner, I never titled the car. I can't verify the mileage on the car but judging by the condition of the seats it looks like the odometer is original rather than rolled over once. Overall the car looks to be a good restoration candidate, or it could be a great parts car. The car is located in Ballwin, MO, contact me if you would like to see it before you bid. I can store it for a while but full payment must be made within 3 days of the auction close by cash, cashiers check, or PayPal. No warranty and the sale is final.
