11/30: The reserve has been LOWERED by $1500! AND...a "Buy It Now" price has been added!!!! HI! UP FOR AUCTION IS MY PERSONAL LUXURY CRUISER - MY 1972 BUICK RIVIERA! AND IT IS LOADED WITH JUST ABOUT EVERY OPTION THAT BUICK HAD TO OFFER!!! 1ST THE PAINT,...IT IS A GOLD FLAKE, METALLIC BROWN AND THE BUCKET SEAT INTERIOR IS A SADDLE TAN, BUT THE SEATS ARE PLEATHER.....NOT LEATHER. IN BETWEEN THE SEATS IS THE CONSOLE WITH THE CHROME PISTOL GRIP SHIFTER. BUT PROBABLY THE MOST UNIQUE OPTION IS THE $605.oo GM ELECTRIC SUNROOF THAT WAS ONLY PUT IN 2% OF THE CARS SOLD THAT YEAR! AT ALMOST 10% OF THE VEHICLES COST YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHY!!! IT ALSO HAS THE RARE GM "CLIMATE CONTROL" ! THAT I HAD REPAIRED AS IT DIDN'T WORK WHEN I BOUGHT IT SOME 5 YEARS AGO. JUST SET THE DESIRED TEMP YOU WANT AND IT AUTOMATICALLY DOES IT FOR YOU! BOTH TEMP & FAN SPEED. THE HEAT COOKS & THE A/C BLOWS VERY, VERY COLD!!! THE CAR ALSO CAME WITH THE "MAX TRAX" - OPTIONAL BRAKING/TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM THAT WORKED WITH THE BRAKING UNIT. IT DIDN'T WORK WHEN I GOT IT AND I COULDN'T FIND ANY PARTS -OR ANYONE TO REPAIR IT. JUST FYI. THE ONLY THING THAT DOES NOT WORK ACURRATLEY IS THE ELECTRIC CLOCK(just noticed a month ago). AGAIN, JUST FYI. ALL 4 POWER WINDOWS WORK AS DOES THE POWER DRIVER'S POWER SEAT! IT COMES WITH ELECTRIC TRUNK RELEASE, DAY/NIGHT MIRROR, CARPENTED TRUNK WITH COVERED SPARE. COLOR MATCHED CARPETED FRONT & REAR MATS WITH BUICK INSIGNIA ON BOTH FRONTS. THERES AN RCA AM/FM 8-TRACK STEREO THAT WORKS AND SOUNDS GREAT. THE MILEAGE READS 44,694 MILES AS OF TODAY -I BOUGHT IT WITH 42 K ALMOST 6 YEARS AGO. THE MILEAGE IS BELIEVED TO BE TRUE. I HAVE RECIPTS OF ALL THE WORK I'VE HAD DONE SINCE I BOUGHT IT: NEW/USED BOILED OUT GAS TANK: NEW DUAL MUFFLER & DUAL RESONATOR SYSTEM -STEM TO STERN. THE CLIMATE CONTROL WAS SENT OUT & REPAIRED, CRUISE CONTROL WAS REPLACED, THE AM/FM 8-TRACK REPLACED AS THE AFTER MARKET SYSTEM WHEN I GOT IT DID NOT WORK EITHER. FULL TUNE UP WITH ONLY A/C DELCO PLUGS & PARTS AS WELL AS A NEW BATTERY TOO!!! I HAVE ALL RECIPTS AS WELL AS AN COPY OF THE ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE SHOWING ALL THE GOODIES IT CAME WITH. I ALSO, HAVE THE RARE GM SUNROOF BOOKLET SHOWING ALL THE TECH REPAIR INFO, THE GLOVEBOX BOOK AND SOME OTHER GOODIES I HAVE PICKED UP ON EBAY OVER THE 5 YEARS!! THERE ARE 2 SPOTS -ONE RUST ON THE TRUNK LID AND THE OTHER IS A CRACK ON THE INNER DASH(SEE PICTURES) BUT THATS ABOUT IT. Pictures are great, but seeing the car in person is an absolute MUST. Just want to say to all you people out there within driving distance, this car is the absolute REAL DEAL. I first saw this car at a local show about 5 years ago, and its just as beautiful now as it was then. The nicer Rivs out there have been commanding big numbers, and this one will be no exception. They wont be getting any cheaper. This is from someone who currently owns two 71 Riv GS's and has previously owned and sold ten other boattails since 1989. Eastport is just about 5 miles shy of the eastend county seat town of Riverhead. If you know the L.I.Expressway, you would get off on exit 70. Where do you come from? In regard to the rust spot, if you standing in front of the trunk, it is on the lip closet to the driver's side, on the very edge of the trunk lid under the window. If you look at the picture of it again you'll be able to visualize it and just fyi: the green to your left on the car is the actually the reflection from my green bowling shirt and not a change in paint color.
