1968 Mercury Cougar. Up for auction is a beautiful rust free solid Mercury Cougar. The car is the original Lime Gold color w/light green interior. The paint is not original, but is close to a factory finish. The original owners manual shows that the car was sold on 5/30/68. The body on this car is very nice, it will pass the magnet test with no problem, just some small parking lot dings...not very noticeable. The interior seems to be mostly all original with minimal wear. The trunk still has the original mats, spare and jack kit. The car has a V8 with automatic transmission and power steering. The chrome and rubber trim look original and are in good condition. It has white wall tires with 80% tread left. The gauges all work and the car still has its deluxe factory steering wheel, most of the interior courtesy lights still work. The headlight doors work, the rear sequentials have the original unit...they do not work. The car sounds smooth and shifts well, the choke needs to be fixed/adjusted. The drivers side wheel bearing can be heard when you go over 30 mph. The person that we got the car from had given it a basic tune up. The car was in storage for over ten years and has only been driven three to five miles by us, please keep that in mind if you have ambitions of driving the car home over a long distance. p.s. please see our other sale, these two 1968 cars would look make a great pair and look nice in the same garage :) NOTE: 1.
