Vehicle Detail
We bought at an auction and drove for six months, then while using to move the clutch went out, we couldn't get this one fixed right away so we bought a 99 Ford dually. While we were having the clutch replaced we had new injectors installed. The mechanic could never get it to run right after that, I brought it home and put a new high pressure oil pump on and some new sensors. Then the starter went out, I installed a DB electrical high torque starter. I got it to run, but after it warms up it is hard to start. I think that they may have either twisted an o-ring on an injector or an injector cup is bad, I think it looses oil pressure in the injector system. It blows white smoke when you start it and has some when it is warmed up, as you can see in one picture. It does have some blow by when you take the oil cap off, so it could have a bad cylinder. It will run good, but if you kill it you may have to wait until it cools down to get it started again. Over all it is a solid pickup, drives good and the cab is way tighter than my dually crew cab. Everything seems to work good in it, and it is very roomy. We put on nerf bars, new 4" exhaust from turbo to tail pipe, clutch, HPOP, injectors and starter. It has a flip-over goose neck ball and receiver hitch, and pulled a 24' goose-neck flatbed nice. The body is fairly straight but it has a big dent on the driver side rear, passenger side top of box and the driver door has been over extended so its dented by the hinges. I wanted to fix it up because it drives nice and is roomy, but my wife said NO we are not spending any more money on it. I have way more invested in this than what I'm trying to get out of it. It may be something simple as a o-ring or it could take a new motor. Either way it would be a nice pickup. Thank for looking. Must be picked up locally, 500.00 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of end of auction, balance due on or before pickup. Cash, certified bank check or bank wire transfer.
