Vehicle Detail
For sale a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 This car is a high-performance version of the S-Class luxury sedan. It was built on its own assembly line by Daimler-Benz is Stuttgart, Germany. It was produced between 1975 and 1981 in extremely limited numbers. The 6.9 liter engine is a factory hand-built unit featuring dry sump lubrication. The factory rated top speed is 140 mph producing 250 hp and 360 ft-lb of torque. This car also has a hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension. This particular car I purchased five years ago from Arizona. The car was originally purchased in 1979 in Louisiana. I have garage kept it and never drove in the winter. The car rides extremely smooth and the engine is very strong. The exterior I would rate at a 9.0. The interior does need minimal attention. The front armrest needs a new cover and the rear seat cushions need to be replaced along with a new leather cover (Arizona sun?). I do have the new factory oem horsehair cushions which are an $800 part in itself. Everything on the car is original from the wheels to even the Becker Mexico radio which still works well. I am selling this car because I just don't have the time to drive it and keep improving it (interior). I currently own a truck, dirt bike, vespa scooter, two mountain bikes and a Trek road bike. So the Mercedes has to reluctantly go. Next will be the Vespa! Please feel free to call with any questions. Richard (815)-236-6116
