Vehicle Detail
Listed is my 1988 Ford Bronco II. I purchased it 1 year ago and it is a very fun truck to drive. When I bought it, it had a few issues that needed repaired. The following is a list of repairs I have made since purchasing it and all repairs have been done inside the last 3-4K miles. Opening bid does not even cover the cost of repairs and upgrades I have made, let alone the $1800 purchase price I paid for it. No reserve games played here, if you are the high bid, it is yours. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere now. You will not find a Bronco II anywhere in better mechanical condition. Cosmetically it presents itself nicely, it is a very clean truck. I ended up deciding I wanted a pickup and bought an extended cab Ford Ranger. The mileage listed is accurate but after driving this truck you would never believe it. Obviously there are a lot of highway miles on it as it runs and drives like new. I could easily give you the same story you see on many 20+ year old Bronco II's that "it only has 93K miles" because the odometer does not show the 6th digit on the miles but I am giving you the true miles. After all, do you really think there are that many Bronco II's out there with under 100K miles??? I dont think so either...... New, repaired and upgraded items on truck are as follows. Brake system was completely rebuilt. New pads and rotors were installed on the front along with new wheel bearings and grease seals. On the rear, both drums were resurfaced and brake shoes were replaced with new ones along with new wheel cylinders. Brake system was then flushed with new fluid. 4WD and transfer case work perfectly and have no issues. Rear driveshaft was replaced with a new unit due to a bad CV joint at the rear. Front driveshaft is good and didnt require any service. Front and rear differentials run nice and quiet. The A/C did not work when truck was purchased. I repaired a couple leaks in the system with new o-rings, replaced system accumulator and orifice tube and converted system service valves to R134. System now runs so cold you have to turn it down even on hot days. As for the rest of the climate system, the heater core was recently replaced due to poor heat last winter and a leak and now heats very well. Cooling system was flushed when repairs were made and the radiator cooling fan clutch was replaced along with the thermostat. The HVAC blower motor was replaced due to making noise. The valve covers leaked badly when truck was purchased (very common issue on the Ford 2.9 and 4.0L engines). They were both replaced with updated steel core gaskets. Truck was completely tuned up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, PCV valve and all new filters. New Ford plug wire separators were installed to keep the plug wires in place. Every fluid in the truck has been changed including transmission fluid and filter kit. Engine, transmission and 4WD work perfectly. A completely new stereo system was installed including a new Kenwood head unit with an auxiliary input port for your iPod along with Kenwood 6x9 speakers in the rear factory speaker locations and 4.5" speakers in the factory dash locations. No door panel cutting or any other cutting was done to install the system. The interior of the truck is in beautiful condition with the exception of 2 small cracks in the factory original dash pad. Tires on the truck are raised white letter Firestone Destinations and are in excellent condition and have approx 60-75% tread remaining. They are a nice and quiet street tire not a noisy off-road tire. Tires are still mounted on the factory Bronco II aluminum wheels. I added a set of wheel spacers all the way around to make the truck a little more stable. Anyone who has driven a Bronco II knows that they all feel a little top heavy, these spacers helped that tremendously. If you dont like the feel or look, it would take about 15 minutes to removed them and move the tires back in to their original position. No permanent changes were made. Body condition is good/excellent. Sometime prior to my purchase, a previous owner replaced the hood with a hood from a white truck and did a fairly poor job of painting it black. One of the things I had planned to do was repaint it so it would better match the rest of the black on the truck but I never got around to it. Right front fender has a couple small dings in it that were also there when the truck was purchased. I have tried to show them in the attached pictures. The history report shows an entry for minor body damage in 2008 approx a year before I bought it. I have to assume that the hood and dings in fender were from that as there is no evidence of any other damage ever on the truck (needless to say the previous owner did not give us the courtesy of letting us know this). Other than these two minor issues the body is excellent. Truck has absolutely no rust, chrome bumpers shine nicely and all glass is very nice. Outside beltline weaterstrip on the front door glasses has some cracking but works fine. Paint shines well and has minimal scratches and chips for a 22 year old truck. Feel free to email and ask any questions. I have tried to describe the truck to the best of my ability but truck is sold as is, where is. No shipping available unless you make all arrangements. $500 deposit required within 24hrs of auction end and truck must be paid for in full and picked up within 10 days of auction end. Truck is for sale locally also so I reserve the right to end the auction if it is sold early.
