Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice Honda CB 400f Super sport. My dad competeled a frame up restoration this bike about 8 years ago. We have had some good times with it, and now it must go. Clean Alabama title in hand. This bike sat for about a year recently, and now could use a tune up. I have cleaned, and sincronized the carbs, and it fires right up and idles fine. It could use a set of points and condensors. The paint on this bike is a 10 out of 10, the chrome is original and has some small pits. The 4 into 1 header was dipped and all the pin holes were welded up and rechromed professionally by a guy out in Denver 8 years ago. The tires are in good shape, and brakes work as intented. The tank has been kreemed on the inside. The seat has been reupolstered, and is a 10 out of 10 in my opinion. This bikes needs a small amount of polishing to remove some stains, and some minor mechanical to make it perfect, and it could easily go into a museum in my opinion. It comes with a Haynes manual, and some Honda literature (Magazine articles from 1975, and other articles about the bike), an extra set of carbs which have been used for parts, and an extra rear tail light. I will be happy to help with delivery within 250 miles of Birmingham for a 45 cents/mile fee. Otherwise shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser. $150 deposit due withing 24 hours after the auction. 205-965-3350 with any questions. I have the bike listed locally on c-list, and reserve the right to end the auction early. On Nov-04-10 at 20:35:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a couple of phone calls, about the bike, and wanted to post some additional information. Many have asked what "minor mechanical" means above. The bike starts and runs fine and idles perfectly. It will rev just fine setting still. Under load above 5K RPM it stumbles a little. It needs a set of condensor, they are original from the 8 year old restoration, and need replacing. Also, if you look very closely at the upper left hand corner of the left side cover there is a scratch in the paint. You will need to look close. That is the only imperfection in the paint. Forks, fine, Brakes, fine, has it been dropped? Yes but only by previous owners, resulting in a light rash on the turn signal housing, and a tweaked headlight bracket, and slight(hardly noticeable) in the bars. Many of these things are not even noticeable unless you knew about them. I am being very discriminate in these descriptions, i am an up front seller, and value my 100% feedback. It is important to me that you are pleased with your purchase. Regarding shipping. I have a good friend who works for Federal Motorcycle transportation, and I will be happy to connect you with her if you want help with pricing. Forward Air maybe cheaper. I have been asked for quotes, and not positive, but would guess between 250-350, depending on location from George Barber's back yard :). I have some friends that work in the industry, and can get a crate if that helps. I will crate it for you, but you will need to reimburse me for whatever I pay for materials. I will also transport to a local birmingham shipping terminal for free if that helps. Keep the phone calls coming feel free to call, However, I will be out of town Beginning tomorrow afternoon riding dirt bikes with my son, with sketchy cell phone service. I will be checking ebay with my laptop.
