Vehicle Detail
1999 Oldsmobile Aurora with Autobahn Package for sale - Low Reserve I am selling my 99 aurora which has been my daily driver for the past 21 months. Mileage is 110,000. Car runs and drives excellent. The only thing i have had to replace in the last 21 months is a tie rod. This car has the rare autobahn package, along with the gold package (gold emblems front & rear), and moonroof, and chrome wheels.10 Only around 5,000 or so of the 19,000 or so Aurora's made in 99 had this particular option. It included a different gear ratio in the transmission and a 136 mph speed limiter rather than the standard 107 mph and speed rated tires from the factory. Only options the car DOES NOT have are the Bose Radio and heated seats. The Good Points The exterior is in very good condition for it's age. Only notable blemishes are the front bumper has a small gouge and a scrap (see pics) and the rear near the trimline on one side has a very small door ding and then trim is losing some paint on the other side (both very minor) Seats have average wear for their age, no rips or tears, just normal wear for their age. Car runs and drives excellent. All power options (windows, locks, power mirrors & antenna, etc.), in good working order. My plan was to drive this car for 3-5 years then totally restore and take to car shows later on, but tax bill forces sale. Have 2 key fobs and all books (owners manual and original window sticker) No service engine soon light (very uncommon for a GM car) Only error light that comes on intermitently is the "security light" but has never caused a problem or failed to start in the 21 months i've ownd it. When it's on you just have to pull key out and try again when light goes out. (only happens about once out of every 20 starts or so) The things that will need some attention at some point in the future Car is leaking some oil (slow leak on the oil pan from what it looks like) i have to add approx 1-1.5 quarts between changes at the current time. No other leaks from anywhere else currently. Cd changer in trunk will not load. Regular Cd player does work. Reserve is set very low and i also reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to local sale. 10 day auction and car must be picked up and cash or certified check paid in person by November 21st. (gives 2 weekends to come pick up this way) Major airports are located in St. Louis & Memphis (Cape Girardeau, MO) is about halfway between both. You could fly in and rent a car and turn it in here and then drive Aurora home. Please call me at 573-270-1886 or email on here for any questions. Thanks for looking and goodluck! I also have more pictures, if you would like to see email me at rhays1970@yahoo.com On Nov-02-10 at 16:47:20 PDT, seller added the following information: 2 THINGS I FORGOT TO MENTION WHEN LISTING THE CAR. One good item- Vehicle has 4 new tires with approximately 6,000 miles on them. I put them on new about a year or so ago. They are a set of Michelin Hydroedge (these are the ones that have the channels that throw off the water) They retail for 129 each and i put four of them on, was nearly 600.00 with the mount and balancing. These are 90,000 mile warrantied tires (however the warranty is only good for the original purchaser (just called Sears and checked) However someone should have good tires for at around 80,000 miles plus if kept rotated and no road hazards. Tires are wearing evenly as they should. One defect i forgot after reviewing my listing - The dipstick tube is "somewhat loose" Has been this way since i bought car with no problem, i just make sure to hold it with one hand when i pull the stick out. Is attached to the oil pan, but the brace is loose is all. Had planned to fix this when the oil plan gasket was changed.
