W116 Body. The car runs and drives but is in need of TLC. This car came from a collection in Dallas and I don’t believe it has run much in the last few years. I have owned it for 2 years but was out of the country most of that time and have not had time to work on this car. It did made the recent trip from Fort Worth to Vincennes, Indiana ok. The battery seems strong and keeps a charge ok. The tires are in good shape with a lot of tread. All glass is ok, body has no rust, the transmission and brakes seem to be in good order. Interior wise as you can see from the photos it's in fair to good shape for an original 30 year old car. Passenger side seat and rear seat in good shape. Dash has a two cracks and the wood trim coating is cracked in a couple of places. The wood seems ok, but the finish is cracked. Wood paneling on center console is in fair shape with a few cracks, and the steering wheel looks good. The original radio works and the auto antenna works. Headliner looks very good, visors and rear view are in nice shape. It needs a new rear deck cover. The car is missing the AC pump and therefore I do not know the condition of the climate control. All gauges in dash cluster work in including fuel gauge, odometer, speedometer, temp, and oil pressure. Not sure about the clock. I purchased another dash cluster to have spares and a clock. Glove box is in good shape and latch works fine. I have worked on the windows and all work, but the left side switches need to be reworked/replaced. I have a spare but it ended up with the same problem as original. Mechanically, the car runs and drives, but needs TLC. It shows 149,965 miles on the odometer which I believe to be the original mileage. The engine starts and runs. The transmission shifts smooth and has no problems as far as I can tell. The car steers ok,. The brakes work well and the pedal is high. Tires are all in good shape. All of the lights appear to work. The title is clear and the tags and title are Texas antique. The car has a vegetable oil tank in the trunk and there was a filter near the engine not hooked up. I removed and placed in the trunk. There was also an injector block and a turbo in the trunk when I purchased the car. The condition is unknown but maybe worth something for the core charge. I purchased a left side window motor and did not need it. Switches again. I do not have time to work on this project. I believe it is a good basic car but does need many things worked on to bring it back to more than a daily driver. Give me call with more questions. 812-255-0235 after 5 EST. There is a small paint chip missing on top of left rear fender. (see photo). I can store the car for a while (outside). Please pay in full and we can discuss pickup.Note that there is no reserve. The car will be sold. Thanks.
