Vehicle Detail

1980 International Scout II turbo diesel Manufactured on 06-19-1980 Off body restoration between 2008-2010, at a professional restoration shop with 25years of restoration experience. This quite a rare scout, 1980 was the last year that the Scout was produced, production stopped in August of that year and 1980 was the only year of the turbo diesel variant of the Nissan SD33 that International offered from 1976 to 1980. But what really makes this Scout rare is that this truck had a completely rust free body and frame. This Scout was a former Army vehicle, US Army license # CB 4537 (the license plate will go with the sale). The Army utilized the front "brush guard" style bumper and a rear step bumper. OEM International Scout chrome bumpers are available for a full price offer or upon agreement. While the body was off the frame, the frame was wire wheeled, washed with an acid etch solution, the frame axles and springs were painted with POR-15 (an anti rust paint). The underside of the body tub was also wire wheeled acid etched and painted with POR-15, the underside was then undercoated before it was returned to the frame. The inner fenders were and the insides of the doors and rear gate were sanded and painted with POR -15 and then undercoated. The entire body was prepped and painted without any of the mechanical or trim components installed. The body was painted in factory Omaha Orange, base coat-clear coat. The roof was painted in the enamel trim white that was offered by International in 1980. Of course the truck was painted with the top off so that the Scout could be enjoyed as a summer cruiser. Various engine or interior trim pieces were painted either silver or black depending on what was called for, the original chrome trim for the exterior was cleaned up or replace with new. The interior floor was wire wheeled, acid etched and sprayed with Raptor brand bedliner. The original ribbing and seams illustrate the overall fitness and originality of the body structure. The glass trim and seals were either refurbished or replaced; there is no chips or cracks in any of the glass. Most seals and body gaskets are new. The engine and transmission were in excellent condition and only required minor maintience to make perfect. The Clutch was replaced as were all the fluids. The stock turbo was replaced with a new AR.50 T/3, T/4 turbo which gives the Scout more efficent boost. The interior is the black and burnt orange tartan pattern, and there are no rips or cracks in the upholstery or the plastic panels. The interior was already in great condition when acquired; missing only a few small pieces and having a drivers seat that had a few rips in the seat base. The missing pieces and a new seat were found and installed. I have owned multiple Scouts and this one is by far the best I have ever seen. More pics available on request. Pre purchase inspection welcomed.
