Vehicle Detail

This listing is for one car: 1983 Bentley Mulsanne Turbo. This car has been a personal vehicle of mine since mid-2002. The Mulsanne itself is not a particularly rare car, but the Turbo is EXTREMELY rare, with only 500 (aprox) units being produced over a 4 year production run from 1982-1985, with the most cars being produced in 1984-1985. I have LOVED this car, and I have enjoyed it, but now, I have three children, and it just sits.....that's not fair. Before listing details, I will say this: If you are looking for a showroom museum level car, shop elsewhere. This car is not perfect, nor is its owner. It is sound, VERY good looking, TOUGH, and it has a heart of gold. It has never left me stranded, nor do I think that it ever would. I have a clear title in hand, ready to sell to the highest bidder. No reserve. Here is what I know: Exterior: I would rate this a 8-9 of 10. Paint is not perfect, but it is nice with minor issues. The pin-striping is tired & needs a renewal (it is red). The chrome is IMMACULATE everywhere with no pitting or rust. The glass is perfect with no cracks/dings/scratches. The wheel covers need a new coat of paint (it is not visible at more than 12 feet or so, but up close, the paint trim on the wheel covers is chipping at the edges. Michelin tires have a LOT of life left. There are NO dents on the body.....no door marks, etc. The worst would be a minor paint fleeking that was touched up a while back. Headlights show MINOR yellowing....not yet unatractive, but plan for new ones within a few years. All doors, boot, and bonnet open and close FLAWLESSLY....really, these things are like vaults. There is no drag or sag on the doors. The boot opens and closes like greased glass.....really. Wipers are lacking, but I honestly try not to drive it in the rain. Interior: I would rate this a 9 of 10, and I have a hard time finding why it is not closer to a 10. No tears in leather or mats (all mats are present, even the rear foot rests). Wood on dash and doors is VERY nice with only minor fleaking on the dash (VERY MINOR)....I have stored this in a lower level garage for all of its years with me....it has not been exposed to excessive heat while stored. Dash is perfect. Steering wheel shows light distressing on the leather, but no tears or rips. Hat rack does have some staining....not sure where/how that arrived. It was there when I got it. I would recommend a steam cleaning or a replacement of that. Headliner is like new with no stains or drooping. Boot interior is perfect....it really looks new. Mechanics: Engine is what it should be......an unstoppable force. 6.75 liters with a factory original turbo (VERY RARE). Car cranks with ease, and it will literally push you back in your seats when the turbo kicks in (not bad for a car that is just a few pounds shy of 5,000lbs. From zero to 20mph, the car is not that impressive, but when the turbo winds up (it sounds like a C-130), the power is awesome......and I do find a perverse pleasure in bullying the kids in rice burners that think they have a race car. Transmission is flawless, and it shifts with more ease that I do. Features & Other: Here is where you will find the problems of the car. Any problems have been explained to the best of my ability: 1. The radio. The power antenna will not raise, therefore the AM-FM is non functional (it is a Blaupunkt AM-FM cassette player). The cassette deck works fine. 2. The power front seats: The controls work, and when used, you can hear the motors functioning, but they have been detached from the seats themselves (not sure why, it was like that when I got it), but the seats are in a comfortable position (I am 6' tall, and I can drive it with ease). If you are taller than 6'5" or shorter than 5'5", you will need to have this seen about immediately). 3. Cruise control. Does not work...don't know why. 4. Mileage: The odometer is measured in kilometers, and there is a little over 66,000km (41,000+miles). Speedometer is also in km. 5. Power windows work fine. 6. All lighting works fine. 7. This vehicle uses a mineral oil system for elevation, suspension, and brakes. It works fine.
