1978 Suzuki GS

1998 Suzuki GS1000 partially restored. Will post mileage and title soon. Much work has been done. I owned a shop that specialized in restoration of older Japanese bikes and most of what we did was mechanical restoration with some cosmetic restoration as well. I am a licensed motorcycle mechanic in Pennsylvania. Over $2000 dollars worth of parts have been purchased for this bike including things like chrome fasteners, cross drilled rotors and dual disk racing fork (original), tires.... The bike had work done on the motor in 1980 by Yoshimura and it roars! Many small parts such as foot peg mounts, et cetera have been blasted, primed and painted. New parts included: Pirelli Sport Demon tires, new tubes and rim bands. New wheel bearings. New Caliper rebuild kits, new master cylinder rebuild kits. New brake linings. New Carb rebuild kits(already installed in refurbished carburetors), many new engine gaskets, new spark plugs, points and condenser, new taillight lens, stainless steel engine bold kit, all new chrome bolts and fasteners, new rear shocks and springs, dual front disk forks completely rebuilt including Progressive fork springs with calipers included, cross drilled and cut rotors for front and back brakes, new engine case badges, new side cover badges, new tank badges, tank interior restored with POR-15(I have done over 2 dozen of these with great results), Tank blasted and primed, side covers painted, new reflectors for tail, clip on handle bars for aforementioned racing forks, New chrome horns, new chrome valve cover end caps, engine cleaned, side covers blasted, primed and painted and cured with engine paint, original chrome grab rails polished nicely, stock luggage rack polished nicely, handmade Yosh megaphone racing pipes blasted and painted with exhaust paint and properly cured, levers and pedals blasted, primed, painted, new brake switch, new chain and sprocket, there is more… I am sure I am leaving things out. This is going to be one heck of a bike, I just have to move to a smaller place and won’t have time or space to work on it anymore due to family commitments and a a new job.
