Vehicle Detail
1964 AMC RAMBLER 770 STATION WAGON Up for auction is an excellent 1964 Rambler 770 Station Wagon. Powered by a 8 cylinder 287 cubic inch Rambler V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Very hard to find in this condition. This Rambler was purchased 12/23/63 in Carlsbad California at the Ocean Rambler dealership. After spending nearly its entire life in the west, it eventually ended up in Wisconsin. As you look at the pics, you'll see this Rambler was very well taken care of. I have a maintenance log which dates from June of 1974 to July of 1999. Highlights of the log would be a complete transmission overhaul and new engine ($2900) in 1996 and complete paint job ($1800) in 1998. Mileage is probably around 110k. It's really an excellent driver with a few mods. This Rambler starts easy, runs and drives great and stops true. It does have a professionally modified exhaust system giving a low (but not loud) rumble that sounds great. The previous owner installed 6 way power leather seats (Cadillac) that are operational and a tilt steering column. Having driven at a dozen AMC's in my day, this one comes the closest I've had to operating like new. I rarely take it out for a spin without getting positive comments from men and women......it's just one of those cars people come up and talk to you about. It's reliable enough to take on a long trip or be a daily driver. It's not perfect however, there are a couple of small touch up spots, and a couple of small dings in the car. Furthermore the rear seat back lock is not installed, the horn does not work, and there is a small windshield bullseye. Doors open and close well and windows roll up and down easily. Power brakes and power steering work great. Tires are good, locking gas cap with keys, lights work, signals work, heat works, gauges work and even the AM/FM radio works, but the antena is not stock. The underside of the car is very clean, paint is very shiny. No other known issues. Take a look at the pics, ask any questions you might have before bidding. Clear title. WHERE'S ELKHORN WISCONSIN? Elkhorn is about a 45 minute drive from Milwaukee, a 90 minute drive from Chicago and about a 75 minute drive from Madison. TERMS By bidding on this item you agree to the following terms.
