Vehicle Detail
hi there, i've got my '79 scout II rallye up for sale. she is my daily driver, i will miss her as i'd hoped to fully restore her but my home sold and i no longer have the room nor the willingness to ship it to NY where i'm moving. it's a rust orange colored body with a white convertible top i've never removed. 345 v8, has a/c but doesn't blow the coldest, i never use it anyway really :o) this car starts everytime. i've driven her all over the state of florida. so far all i've gotten fixed is a bad battery cable. there is a very slow/small power steering leak, i just add more every 5 months or so. she has the usual rust issues because it was originally a northern car... and so needs some rust repair, basically around the back wheels and on the back floorboard there needs to be a little welding eventually. and the rallye strip needs repainting if you find it necessary. i hope you fall in love with it like i am :o) i will miss her. 4X4 works great but i've never used it except to test it when i bought it. oops almost forgot to mention it needs a new speedometer cable, it jumps sometimes, and on the driver's side door seat there is a tear in the orange matching pleather - an easy fix! On Oct-24-10 at 21:14:08 PDT, seller added the following information: to clarify: the hole of rust shown was a close-up of the panel in front of the back wheel. it's the same on both sides. there are pencil eraser head sized rust spots, about 2 or 3 on the rallye stripe that needs redoing. weather stripping could be better, it's old but i've never cared and it's never leaked in theses FL thunderstorms when it's rained.. like i said i've never taken the top of and i don't know when the previous owner last did either. the air conditioning is original, it's recently stopped blowing cold, so i'm not sure what's up with that. i also forgot to mention the keys do not lock the car. all the parts for that would be on scoutparts.com or anythingscouts.com so you could get an idea of a price if you want to go that route, you can also purchase a rallye stripe on those sites. there is also a tear along the pleather on the driver door bottom as well. ok just wanted to be as thorough as possible! thank you for your interest! i will be posting photos of the undercarriage tonight. On Oct-25-10 at 06:50:38 PDT, seller added the following information: US BIDDERS ONLY!!!! IF YOU LIVE ELSEWHERE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME! PAYMENT REQUIRED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION END OR IT WILL BE RE LISTED.
