Vehicle Detail
1983 Honda V45 Magna 28,098 miles. Asking opening bid of $350 with extras added of cruise control, International plexifairing3 (needs 4 connecting bolts), Kawasaki police Solo saddle, recovered seat, harley bags, bag and trunk rack, trunk, engine guards, new shocks, new battery, extra key, service manual, owners manual, service records, and new clutch added since my purchase. (totaling about $690). Fastest motorcycle I have ever owned (once had it at 120 mph) and it is known for its’ reliability. Usually drive it at 70 mph. The higher the speed the lower the gas mileage. Normally gets 46 mpg. I have done all the servicing and keep it up to date in the 4 years I have had it. Garage kept. Tires good. Nice after market muffler. Turn signals don’t work but I think this is from some of the work I did running it with a solo saddle. I have not been riding it much during the last year and when I started riding it again I noticed It ran great at higher speeds but was difficult to start and keep running in lower rpm. My mechanic told me it needed the carburetors cleaned and that I may be able to do this with running a few tanks of gas with a fuel treatment. This seemed to help it but last week somehow it seems to not be getting gas and I was not able to start it. This is a wonderful bike but it needs some tweeking to get it running well. Must sell because I have too many motorcycles and my girlfriend needs it out of her garage. 927-779-1246 Flagstaff AZ A milestone in the evolution of motorcycles, the V45's performance is comparable to that of Valkyries and Honda's 1800cc V-twin cruisers. However, its mix of performance, reliability, and refinement was overshadowed by the more powerful 1098cc "V65" Magna in 1983. Honda notoriously emphasised the speed of this bike. In failing to stress the total package, the engineering and design triumph was foiled by a feeble marketing approach. The 1983 V45 Magna was available in one of two colors and the headlight, instruments, and fenders were chrome. The gas tank and side covers are the basic color maroon. The front disc brake grooves were curved. The speedometer had a 150 mph (240 km/h) limit. The engine was a 748 cc DOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled V-4 linked to a 6-speed transmission and a shaft drive.
