Vehicle Detail
1994 Nissan Maxima that needs a new alternator. This is an extra car that I have replaced in the battery in twice over the past year because I rarely drive it. I don't feel like dropping $300 on a new alternator just so the car can sit there in case I need it. This is a list of items that need repair... - The trunk doesn't open (or if it is open then it doesn't close) The key doesn't work in the trunk. Right now it is closed and I think there are some tools in there...bonus! - The radio doesn't work; I think the antenna is gone. I am not sure if the cassette works or not. - The hood hydraulics need replacing, so the hood doesn't stay up. - The gas guage works intermittently. Usually, it comes on for at least a few minutes every time I drive so I can see if I am low on gas. The low gas light does come on if you get really low. - The alarm goes off if you try to open the driver's side door, so you have to go around to the passenger's side door to unlock it (this disables the alarm) then you can unlock the driver's side door. I think there must be a way to disable the alarm entirely, but I am not sure how. - The alternator needs replacing. How do I know? The AAA guy told me there was a diode (or something) burned out in the alternator and it needed to be replaced. I didn't listen and now the battery is dead again. I think we could jump it though, so you could drive it home. That is what I did last night when I drove it to the post office 5 miles away, hence this ad. The A/C works great! This car needs work but the engine runs great and could go another 100,000 miles. My Dad was great about changing the oil.
