Vehicle Detail
You have another chance at one of the most sought after 1963 Buicks. Had this on last year and it nearly hit reserve but I didn't have much time to answer questions and nobody knew if it would run since it was in storage since the 1980s. Well, now we know it runs and drives (had it out last week) and it still runs very strong like it did in the 1960s and when we used to drive it in the 1980s. This is a 1963 Buick Wildcat 2 Door Hardtop with the never published 401 Four Speed Option of which there were reportedly between six and eight built. We acquired it in 1982 and drove it while we were in high school (don't worry, we also had drag cars so this was not abused) and in 1984 we had the engine rebuilt by Pilosi Motorsports of Portland back to the stock specs. We did paint it Ford Red at the time but kept the power steering pump Buick Green so we knew what color to return the engine to later. It has only had 5,000 to 6,000 miles since the rebuild and the chassis has less than 106,000 right now (showing 105969 right now). We had it out for a couple car shows in 1985-1989 and one show in 1990 and 1991. It has been in the Portland Roadster Show in the 1980s and has always been well received as a barn find survivor. This originally came from the neighbors of one of our investment properties and they had ordered it originally in late 1962 through Braley and Graham in Southwest Portland. It was even displayed on the rotating display at the dealership in February of 1963 when they took delivery of it. This has been sleeping in a heated garage for the better part of the last 25 years and we just don't have the room for it anymore as we are in the process of cleaning out the family home. It has had one repaint in about 1981 but has not been touched since. The original hubcaps are sitting in the car and the original wheels/tires are stacked on their sides in the basement. I tried to capture some video files of it running when I took it out the other day, but I am not sure if they turned out that well. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for your interest. Didn't want to kill any of the photos in the listing so I cannot add them, but will e-mail them to you if you'd like.
