Vehicle Detail
This Camaro is one of 3000 30th anniversary SS Camaro’s to be built into an SS by the SLP performance team. It’s not one of the 1000 made in 1997 that sport White Paint and Orange stripes, but it does have its advantages. Well, let’s not kid around. It has A LOT of advantages. Exterior: The outside of the car has been revised with True Fire airbrushing that has been lightly ghosted into the paintwork. All airbrushing was completed with House of Kolor materials. In normal shade you can barely see the True Fire over the black base but once the sunlight hit’s it the airbrushing pops out over the beautiful black canvas. The grill in the “SS” hood has been removed and painted with House of Kolor Orion silver and then clear coated before being reinstalled. The fog lights in the front bumper have been removed and a Chromed aluminum grill was installed their place. This was done specifically for allowing more airflow to pass through the radiator and an “air to air” intercooler mounted behind the bumper. This helps define those aggressive “SS” body lines better. It is a daily driver, so please do not expect perfection. Just like any daily driver it does have some nicks and scratches in it but nothing major as you can see from the pictures. The tail lights have been replaced with aftermarket lights with chrome backgrounds that seem to go really well with the CNC machined and polished stainless steel emblems that have replaced the original factory plastic pieces. Wheels/Brakes: All rims are polished aluminum. The rear rims have been swapped out with the ZR1 Corvette Rims which are a little wider than the stock SS rims. This allows you to have a little more rubber on the back of the car and overall gives a much more aggressive stance. The car just had all brakes replaced with sintered metal high performance pads and all rotors’s turned in May of this year so it has a fresh set of brakes on it. All braking equipment (rotors and calipers) are OEM. Under the hood: The engine itself remains completely stock aside from a CNC machined, anodized black “S.S.” throttle body Plate and of course an ATI Procharger Model#P600B ($5,999 retail) currently pushing 8psi of pressure into a high flow aluminum “air to air” intercooler before entering the 5.7liter LT1 V8. This supercharger has upgraded bearings which provide longer life and lower friction and vibration than the OEM bearings. This supercharger is actually tapped into the engine oiling system so there is minimal maintenance needed on the supercharger unlike some of the self contained Supercharger models out there that require their own expensive synthetic oil that needs changed every 3000miles. Which, by coincidence is at the same time that you should be changing your regular motor oil? With this model Supercharger you simply change your regular motor oil on a regular basis and you’re good to go. Oil wise this car runs Mobil 1 synthetic oil as this is what’s recommended by ATI for use with this Supercharger. I’ve ran Mobil 1 synthetic oils in Race bikes that turn as high as 14,000 rpm’s and it is by far the best oil I’ve ever used. This past February the engine was tuned up and it received a new water pump, 160 degree thermostat, Opti-Spark Distributor, AutoLite High Performance Plug Wires, and Platinum Tipped Spark Plugs. The battery was also replaced with an Optima Red Top battery which is probably the best battery money can buy. This tune up alone was almost $1800. Despite the supercharger increasing horsepower the fuel Mileage remains similar to stock under normal driving conditions at around 16mpg in town and 26-27mpg highway. However, if you start getting throttle happy the car can suck the fuel down. Exhaust: The car has all of the original exhaust manifolds and piping with the exception of a high flow “Monsterflow” catalytic converter. The original SLP muffler has been removed and a “Pro-V” chambered muffler has been professionally installed in its place. The dual exhaust tips retain their original position on the left hand side of the car. Interior: The 30th anniversary graphite colored interior remains stock. The car does have a black carpet dash mat in place to protect the dash from sun damage. The only upgrades really are the white faced fluorescent blue gauges. A dual gauge “A” pillar mount with a white faced Boost and a Fuel Pressure gauge which have been upgraded with blue LED lighting to match the other interior lighting (gauges, stereo, etc. The stereo has been upgraded to a Kenwood head unit with MP3 and WMA capability. It includes a remote control and also has the ability for you to plug in a flash drive right into the face in order to listen to your preferred music. The main reason why I upgraded this head unit was for the MP3 capability but most importantly because this head unit has the ability for Bluetooth 2.0 hands free calling which is a most since the car is a 6-speed manual. The head unit has a built in microphone and also has the capability of displaying the name or number of the caller as long as you have a compatible phone. When you answer a call your caller’s voice comes through the stereo speakers so you can clearly understand them. The stereo also has an anti-echo technology as a part of the Bluetooth function to eliminate that echo effect that most Bluetooth devices suffer from. The rest of the speakers in the car have all been upgraded to Kenwood speakers and also a 10 inch subwoofer and custom enclosure with amp has been installed in the back to allow for bass as needed. A remote power control has been mounted with double sided tape to the side of the center console next to the shifter in order to turn the power to the amp up or down as you wish depending on your taste of music. The custom sub enclosure in the back does not interfere with the T-Top storage as the enclosure is mounted inside one of the rear kick panels. It’s a very clean install and does not affect the functionality of the car or T-Top storage whatsoever. The pictures and video that are attached to this auction are of the car in every day conditions. The car was rinsed off with a car hose several hours before the pictures were taken. This was done so you could see the car as it typically is in every day driving. For whoever purchases the car I will have a full detailing completed on the car before pickup. The carfax on this vehicle may be low but this is due to a clerical error by an overworked employee at the DMV. If you pull the carfax you will see this error made by the DMV. If you would like to see the car in person I’d be more than happy to show it to you. However, because this is a high performance vehicle with a large surplus of horsepower and torque please don’t expect to take the car out for a joy ride unless you have cash in hand. You break/wreck it…you bought it. I absolutely love this car and have sunk my heart and soul into it along with a small fortune. I hate to see it go but I’m in need of a family vehicle with more storage since I’m moving to another state soon. No warranty is included with the vehicle. None Refundable Deposit of $500 is due withing 48 hours of auction closing. Can be made via PayPal.
