Rock solid, rust free '55 President State Coupe with only 68,000 ORIGINAL miles. 259 cu. In. V-8, 4-bbl carb. When I found this car 5 years ago in Louisiana, it had been stored in a garage virtually unmoved since 1970 its second owner’s died. The son was selling the family properties and moving to Nevada. It had just been repainted with urethane base coat-clear coat. I freshened all the mechanicals including brakes, (new wheel cylinders, soft lines, master cylinder), voltage regulator, water pump, radiator hoses, fuel pump, transmission flush, and new tires. I had air cleaner and valve covers powder coated, and the front suspension freshened up with all new bushings at a cost of over $650. I also installed a N.O.S. horn button and N.O.S. horn ring. New carpeting, not yet installed, goes with the car. It remains totally stock in appearance except for the polished aluminum American Mag wheels. You can drive all day long at interstate speeds. I have taken 2-1/2 hour trips to shows in Daytona Beach and Tampa, and it drives without flaws. Unrestored survivors in this condition are few and far between.
