Vehicle Detail

Original low milage, rust free, west coast Ranchero. 1973 GT with original 351 Cleveland CobraJet Drivetrain, heavy duty C6 transmission, and Ford 9" rearend, with 3.25 gears. Originally bright blue with blue interior. This car has always been in Western Oregon / Western Washington. Mild winters,No salt used here, No Rust. Very Solid throughout. Approximately 71,300 miles on it. Car starts, idles, runs, drives, turns, stops, very well. Original 4 barrel heads. The only real modifications are an Edelbrock 4bbl carb in place of the autolite unit, and Hooker headers and dual exhaust. Drives strong and sounds great . Engine compartment has all the factory parts that should be there. A/C car which was converted to R-134 - may need a charge, doesn't blow so cold. Very nice interior, excellent door panels, nice uncut dash. Standard gage package - all gages work. Dash cover / carpet / bench seat / headliner - done in factory style material. I added a tachometer using an existing screw hole in the dash. Doors have no detectable sag in the hinges, and close very nicely. Window cranks work good. Heater fan, heat , vent, defrost , wipers, all work. All exterior lights work. Dash left turn signal works intermittently, otherwise all dash lights, and under dash lights work. All glass good and unblemished. Floors are super solid. Area behind the seat is also very solid, no rust through anywhere on the car. The car was re-painted once many years ago, and the paint is tired and faded. The original shiny bright blue is still under the hood, in doorjambs, on the floor, etc.. All trim is on the car, nice grille and headlight surrounds. Pickup bed chrome on the bed rails has typical light scratches. Has semi-rare wheelwell trim. One light scrape on the car, low on the passenger door jam, going toward the quarter panel. There is one spot of -surface- rust about the size of a quarter on the passenger door, shown in pictures. The wheelwells, rear window frame, underbed area are all very nice. Typical spots rancheros have rust issues are not present on this car. The floor has 4 extra bolt sized holes because the previous owner put in bucket seats. This car is complete, meaning you will not have to hunt around for any trim or small parts, because it is all there. The bench seat has never been sat in , and recently recovered. There is a modern circuitry radio inside the AM radio housing, it has a remote 6 CD changer attached. Remote drivers mirror control works. The picture of the headliner shows missing trim above the windows, it is in fact included and installed on the car. I purchased $400+ worth of window and door seals for the ranchero from Dearborn classics inc.. Previous owner Rhinolined the pickup bed. This is NOT a car that has sat in a field or barn for 20 years. It has been constantly registered, insured, and driven. It can be safely daily driven today. It always starts up and drives nicely. Suspension is tight. Rims are 15x8" magnum 500 style with Cooper Cobra 245/60/15 tires on them , with 80+ percent rubber remaining. The car is sold as-is where is. You are welcome to arrange an inspection for it before the bidding ends. Please be aware this is a 37 year old car, it is not perfect. It comes with no warranty. I will be happy to discuss it with you before you bid. My # is 253-857-7930. Car must be picked up within a month of your winning bid. All in all a nice example, very solid and straight. Hard to find one with the Q Coded Cobrajet motor, especially with the original drivetrain still intact. It's been a dependable driver for me, but other things in life take preference now. When I buy cars , they are for my own use, and I try to find the most honest, rust free, originals I can afford. I am not interested in cars that have had 5 paint jobs, or 4 different engines during their life. I want vehicles i can verify what they are, and what they came form the factory with - this is one of those cars. From the door data tag, which is still there, and in nice legible shape. -- Body 97R, Color 3K, Trim FB, Trans U, Axle 9, DSO 71. The reserve is set at less than $3000. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Of course car must be paid for before it ships anywhere. I require full payment of the winning bid within 7 days of the auction end. Certified Bank Check, Postal Money Order, and Paypal are acceptable forms of payment. I will require a few days to confirm the check is legitimate if you choose the Certified check route.
