Vehicle Detail

This 1977 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper is rare to find in this great of shape. Sure it's not perfect by any means, but for a 77 it's damn close. It was restored in 2000 by its previous owner and has over $10,000 of improvements. History:It came from Virginia originally. It was purchased as a restoration project and restored to its original 1977 glory using stock parts. Interior:The interior was refitted with after-market door panels that mimic stock panels. The carpeting has been replaced and we have included an extra carpet kit. The fabric on the seats is in great shape. All of the curtains are in excellent condition and have little wear or fade on them. There's plenty of storage cabinets in the camper. Some of the plastic handles to the cabinet doors need to be replaced. The sink uses an electric switch to turn on the water. There is a water storage tank and a cooler for food. There was an extra lighter plug installed for your electronics. The passenger seat swivels all the way around. There's a tape deck/radio but no speakers. The lower and upper bunks combined can sleep about 4 adults Exterior: It was sanded and we were told the paint applied was a aircraft grade. Some of the window seals have been replaced. The canvas to the top was replaced in 2000 but it could use another re-canvassing. The fiberglass top has been re-gelcoated and re- painted. Engine: The engine was rebuilt during the restoration and the pervious owner claims it has only 5000 miles on the rebuild. The factory fuel injection was removed in favor of a Weber progressive carburetor. For exhaust there is the factory heater boxes and a extractor system with glass pack. It starts easily and pulls quite well especially when the carburetors secondary is open Extras:The camper comes with a tent that can be attached to the door of the Bus or it can be a free standing structure. It is incredibly versatile and in good shape, the only problems being a few broken clips and one tare in a corner, easily fixable. There is a new bra included for the front. There is a dual battery system with selector switch, battery 1, battery 2, all batteries, or all off. One new starting battery. Issues:-There's still some parts of the Bus with rust that we have tried to take as many pictures of as we found. We think the rust appeared after the restoration. -Some of the plastic handles to the cabinets need to be replaced. -The canvas for the camper top needs some work. There's some holes and some mold which is common for the camper but you may want to replace it. -The back windows have some tinting of them and it is clouded. You can keep it on or remove it with some heat.-The door panels are not the best of quality and it's clear whoever installed them didn't retain the plastic liners behind the panels. So the panels have water damaged and probably should be replace. Though they still look good to the eye. -The whole van was towed from Virginia to Colorado where it has set for at least three years. Due to the time it sat I would recommend a full tune up of the engine and a rebuild of the carburetor with proper jetting for wherever it ends up. -There isn't a belt installed on the AC compressor so it's not known to be working or not. Terms of sale: This Van is almost 35 years old, there could be problems not noticed by us or others. Thus this van is being sold AS-IS no warranty expressed or implied. We have done our best to discribe it but still cant be sure we have included all. Are you unsure? Have we not mentioned something you need to know? Please ask us questions before bidding.
