Vehicle Detail
1976 Porsche 911S Targa (Carrera/911SC Look) with a 3.0 Litre 911SC Engine This is the perfect for the sports car enthusiast! This car has its roots in the Pacific Northwest. It was originally bought in Seattle. The car has three previous owners. The first two were a Father and then his son. The previous owner had it for 10 years. Here are some of the qualities of this 911S. It has a decent body (other than the valance panel and one ding by the right wheel opening), there is no rust, it has the original Targa soft top and the authentic Carrera/Fuchs 15" rims. The car was upgraded to the Carrera/911SC wide rear fenders and a complete repaint of the original Silver color (likely done by the first or second owner). The paint still looks shiny, but it does have some spots of fading and chips. The rear fender widening was done with the good quality steel fenders instead of the common fiberglass. This wider look gives this 911S the popular and highly sought after “Carrera/911SC” look. The motor was also replaced with a 1978 3.0 911SC motor. The 3.0 SC engine is by far one of the best, most durable and longest lasting motors that Porsche has ever built. This engine has the 930 Turbo Valve covers and the upgraded Carrera chain tensioners. Unfortunately the miles of the engine are not known. The 5 speed transmission (915) shifts good and the clutch is good and strong. This Car is a blast to drive and enjoy. It has plenty of power, steers and handles well. With the Targa top off and the wind blowing it's a trill to drive. All the gauges, heating and electrical systems work, including the clock and cruise control! This is a car that I trust! With the repairs I made, I would not hesitate to drive this 911S anywhere across USA or beyond. Here is a list of parts and repairs that I have done: · Rebuilt Pedal Clutch, Brake & Accelerator Cluster with new brass bushings & new pedal pads $40 · Rebuilt the factory Short Shifter with new Ball, Shaft and Shift Coupler bushings $30 · Complete removal of the engine, transmission and CV axles to repair oil leaks & worn parts. 25 hours= $90 flat rate/ $2,250.00 · Replaced all the following with brand new Genuine Porsche OEM Parts: Oil Cooler seals. $15 Oil Thermostat seal $5 Upper engine oil hose housing gasket $3 Oil Temperature sending unit $20 Accelerator linkage bushings(on engine) $18 Fuel Regulator Gasket & O-Ring seals $16 Front and Rear hood/engine lid struts. $55 New Front & Rear Brakes PBR Ceramic $55 Lube, Oil & Mahle OC54 Filter $35 Muffler Gasket $8 All four CV Joint Boots $70 Fresh Air Heater Hose Intake $60 Heater Air Hose (Orange) $25 Factory Engine Sound Pad $75 New Front KYB/Koni Struts $150 Replaced Targa Top retainer/guides $10 Replaced seat back knobs, rosettes & clips $22.50 Better set of front tires (60% tread) $100 Thoroughly pressure washed/cleaned engine, transmission, engine bay & chassis This engine and transmission runs smooth and strong. The engine does not leak any oil, nor does it consume any oil. It runs strong, clean and it should meet any State DEQ emissions standards/requirements. Repair costs: Parts $802.50.00 & Labor $2,250.00 Total $3,062.50 Here are suggestions for future repair/restoration: Interior needs: New carpet Replace drivers door pocket Repair/replace driver and passenger door stops Replace Targa top/door seals Replace Steering wheel leather wrap Replace stereo with newer am/fm CD player & speakers Repair/refurbish drivers seat pading. Exterior Body/Chassis needs: Repair front valance panel (under front bumper) Repair ding right rear wheel opening Polish/refinish fuchs wheels to shine Clean, polish, touch up and/or refinish clear coat. Replace front fog lights Summary: Based on the NADA guidelines, this 1976 Porsche 911S 2 door Targa would meet the “Average Retail Value” standards and be worth $19,200. With all that said and with today’s economy I'm not going to hold out for a full retail price. Instead I would like someone else to take ownership of this car and begin to enjoy driving it and at the same time give it that TLC it needs to make it even more enjoyable. So the reserve is set modestly and the “buy it now” is a great value! Notes: The car is sold as is and there are no warranties. Shipping is available and completely at the buyers full expense. (Ebay has a list of reputable shipping companies for you to research and get a cost) I can deliver the car to any reputable auto transport facility in the Portland Oregon area or meet the buyer/driver at the Portland International Airport (included with the successful winning bid). Delivery via a flatbed trailer 50 to 300 miles of Salem is negotiable. Previous questions/answers: Q: highest bidder wins? how much to deliver to roseburg oregon. A: Good day, Thanks for your interest in my 911. Yes the highest bidder wins. I can trailer deliver the 911 to Roseburg for $250.00. Thanks, Dennis Q: hello, I'm living in France near Paris and quite interested in this 911, as you mentioned you would be ready to deliver at a transport facility in portland. I understand that the car can perfectly be driven and as I assume there is a Harbour in Portland, would you sell to FRANCE and therefore deliver on the harbour (I'm trying to find out precise cost and shipping company to arrange transportation of the car to le Havre in Franceand if you have any knownlegde of these questions help will be welcome)? if yes, does the car has all documents clear title and so requested in the US, so that I can export it (I thnik we also need bill of sale and invoice for customs taxes and so). by the way, you did not mentioned if the car was accident free? what marks would you give to this car for its mecanical, electrical and consmetical condition? thanks for your time kind regards A: Good day, Yes, I can sell to France. I've sold countless parts to customers throughout France and Europe. There is a harbor in Portland or the next best option would be Seattle, Washington (about 3.5 hours/250 miles north of Salem. I can trailer deliver it to Seattle if needed for $300.00(USD). The car is accident free other that the valance panel as and the right rear fender ding that I mentioned in the listing. I have the title and it is free and clear(no salvage/totalled branding). The ebay listing will act as a bill of sale and invoice for exportation documents. As for marks for mechanical, electrical and cosmetic's...I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "marks" so I'm not sure how to answer that. I've put about 400+/- miles on it since the major repairs and it runs flawlessly. Also since the repairs, I've been parking it in my driveway and there has not been a single leak from it. The heating and electrical, gauges, lights all works too, except for the stereo which should be upgraded as I stated int he listing. As for the cosmetics, again I believe I described that as well in the listing, the paint still looks shiny, but it does have some spots of fading and chips. I hope I've answered all your questions to your satisfaction. If other questions arise, let me know. Thanks Dennis Q: hi, can you send me the engine number, it should start with 62 and is on the vertical support below the fan on the right hand side..thx A: Good day, I almost included that number with the listing, but figured most buyers are not too concerned about it. The engine number is 6280764. If you look it up in the Porsche Red Book you will see that it within the sequence of the 1978 911SC Engine 49 States Engine groups. I have also included my opinions both bias and unbias, about the car as well. Note: We read and respond to an average of 75 emails everyday. It's sometimes disappointing and very time consuming, when a person asks a question and the answer to that question is in the description.
