DESERT AUTOSPORT IS VERY PLEASED TO BRING TO THE MARKETPLACE THIS 1973 DODGE CHALLENGER. IT IS A TRUE RALLYE PACKAGE CAR AND AS PER THE VIN # CAME STANDARD WITH THE 340 CUBIC INCH 240 HORSEPOWER MOTOR. THE ORIGINAL 340 SMALL BLOCK MOTOR IS LONG GONE AND IT HAS THE AWESOME 440 CUBIC INCH MAGNUM MOTOR THAT PUTS OUT WAY MORE POWER. IT BACKS TO A 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND EXITS VIA A 8 3/4 REAR END. THE BODY ON THIS CAR IS LASER STRIGHT AND THE PAINT IS NICE AND SHINEY. THIS IS A VERY SOLID, DRY RUST FREE BODY AND YOU CAN SEE BY THE UNDERCARRIAGE PICS HOW SOLID IT IS. THE INTERIOR IS ALSO IN NICE SHAPE AND THE ONLY NON-STOCK ITEM IS AN UPGRADED STEREO AND SPEAKERS THAT SOUND FAR BETTER THEN THE STOCK ONES. WE JUST HAD THE CAR SERVICED AND AMONG OTHER THINGS WE REPLACED ONE OF THE DOOR HANDLES AND FIXED THE WINDOWS SO THAT THEY ALL ROLL UP AND DOWN WHICH IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE MOPARS. WE TOOK THIS CAR IN ON TRADE FROM A CORVETTE COLLECTOR THAT SAW THE MOVIE VANISHING POINT AND HAD TO GO OUT AND BUY A BIG BLOCK WHITE CHALLENGER. WE ACTUALLY TOOK IT ON TRADE TOWARDS A FAIRLY EXPENSIVE CORVETTE. THE MOTOR ON THIS CAR RUNS STRONG AND WILL SPIN THE TIRES AT WILL. IT SOUNDS GREAT TOO AND DOES NOT RUN HOT EVEN HERE IN THE EXTREME ARIZONA HEAT. WE DID NOT LIKE THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING SO WE HAD A BUILT UP TORQUEFLIGHT THAT WE HAD REMOVED FROM A 528 HEMI CHALLENGER INSTALLED. WE ALSO REMOVED THE 14 INCH RALLYE WHEELS AND HAD A NICE SET OF 15 INCH RALLYES WITH CHROME TRIM RINGS AND GOOD BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A TIRES INSTALLED. IT HAS POWER STERING, POWER BRAKES, UPGRADED MSD IGNITION SYSTEM, ELECTRIC CHOKE ON THE CARBURATOR AND SOME NICE GO FAST GOODIES AS WELL UNDER THE HOOD AND IS A PLEASURE TO DRIVE, MOST OLDER MOPARS DO NOT DRIVE THIS WELL AND WE HAVE DRIVEN A TON OF THEM!! THIS IS A VERY NICE TURNKEY CAR AND IS A NICE CAR FOR THE MONEY. WE HAVE A BRAND NEW SET OF REAR BUMPER GUARDS FOR A 1970-71 CHALLENGER (THE THINNER STYLE OVER A 1973 STYLE )BUT DO NOT HAVE A SET OF BRACKETS TO INSTALL THEM ON THE CAR. THE TRUNK WAS SPATTER PAINTED LIKE A CHEVROLET SO WE HAD IT PAINTED IN THE CORRECT BODY COLOR BUT IT NEEDS SOME NEW RUBBER TRUNK PLUGS(READILY AVAILABLE). CAR SHOWS VERY WELL INSIDE AND OUT AND REALLY LOOKS GOOD WHEN YOU LIFT UP THE HOOD. THIS IS A MOPAR THAT YOU COULD PROULDLY STAND NEXT TO ANY ANY CAR SHOW AND GET NICE COMPLIMENTS ALL DAY LONG.
