Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1979 Scout II. I purchased it from the original owner five years ago and have replaced or rebuilt just about everything since. It has a rebuilt and modded 392 ci. improved cooling engine out of a 1973 pickup, the engine has appriximately 8000 miles since rebuild. It runs perfect and is very dependable, I have taken it on several 500 mile plus trips and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It was professionally painted about two years ago with ppg paint and is nearly flawless. The scout has been a Texas truck it's entire life and has no rust bubbles on the body, nor has it ever had any. The seats are factory and I had them re-upholstered with marine grade vinyl so they should hold up without the top on for many years. All work was performed professionally, and have receipts dating back to the 80's and also the owners manuals will be included. The only thing I know of that it needs is the speedometer needle is slightly bent and in drags sometimes, I have a good speedomerter that will be included. It also has a small exhaust leak. I got a quote of $250 for new exhaust from local shop, which is what I was going to do when it got bad enough to bother me. I have the factory hard top in excellent condition painted rubicon black to match the bumpers, It's in storage but I will try to get pics up befor the auction ends. The scout has all factory matching green tinted galss, including the top. The a/c system is complete and was working before I swapped the engines, however I have not had it serviced since because I keep the top off. Has a 4.5 inch suspension lift and 33x12.5 m/t tires with good tread. Feel free to ask any questions. Engine specs are as follows: 1973 392i.c. Bored .30 over .10/.10 crank/rods Heads milled to raise compression to 9.5/1 Isky 256/262 split duration cam BBC valve springs matched to cam four barrel quadrajet tuned to engine Intake and exhaust profesionally ported and polished Smog bumps removed and cobustion chambers polished. It is also missing the horn button, I have it somewhere but have been unable to locate it so it is being sold without. They can be found here on ebay very reasonable. On Sep-24-10 at 09:54:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Pictures of the top have been added to the link, the lift gate opens and closes as it should. It is a factory metal top and has four small indentions on the top side of it where something was set on top of it. The look like they could be popped out, they can not be seen with the top on the scout. On Sep-24-10 at 20:28:58 PDT, seller added the following information: If you win the auction you are welcome to come and inspect it, or have a third party inspect it, if it is not like I described it you will be under no obligation to purchase.
