Vehicle Detail
2001 Porsche 996 Turbo 6-speed, in excellent, unmodified condition. Color is the stunning Lapis Blue, with full gray leather interior. Owned by a 52 year old professional, non-smoker. This car is fitted with every possible factory option: Full leather interior, including seatbacks Soft, pleated leather seats Power mirrors Power driver and passenger seats (each seat/mirror memory setting can be linked to a key) Satellite navigation system Tinted windows Premium audio system, including radio, cassette, and a 6 disc CD changer Trip computer Porsche crest on headrests Alcantra headliner Color wheel logos Porsche OEM hollow spoke alloy wheels Sports aluminum and leather shifter and brake handle Short shifter Power windows Power locks Vehicle anti-theft system ABS Porsche Stability Management (PSM) Xenon headlights Sunroof Airconditioning, with climate control 4-wheel drive Cruise control Driver and passenger front and side airbags My goal was to keep this car for the rest of my life, so it has had no expenses spared as far as looking after it is concerned. I have used Mobil 1 0w40 Synthetic oil since I bought it and it has just had all the sparkplugs and coilpacks changed, using the upgraded 997 coilpacks (a $1200 service...). The usual 996 faults have also been repaired, such as a cracked plastic cooling reservoir (a very common 996 repair) and one of the turbo bearings was leaking oil so both turbos and wastegates were replaced about 4,000 miles ago, along with the mass airflow sensor and the O2 sensors just to make sure everything was perfect. I make sure to spool down the turbos before turning off the engine so these turbos are in perfect condition. As one of the diverter valves was leaking (another common 996 problem...) both stock diverter valves have been replaced with billet diverter valves that basically last forever. Any small stone chips on the front apron have been carefully touched up with Porsche touchup paint and are basically invisible, as can be seen from the photos. The front lip spoiler was replaced about a year ago and is in good condition, with the exception of a very small ding right at the front bottom edge (see pictures). The car came with a fully integrated K40 front and rear radar detector when I bought it, which can be turned off (I have personally never used it but it is there if you want it). There is a small stain on the driver-side rear seat that was there when I bought it (slightly darker gray in one of the seat creases). Finally it comes with a full set of manuals and a brand new second key for the car. The only reason I am selling it is that I have accepted an overseas position in a country that does not allow importation of left-hand drive vehicles (otherwise I would have taken it with me!).
