I purchased this bike a year ago at a little over 60k miles and put about 4k miles on it within the last year. It was the city of Oceanside, CA Police Dept. bike and I used the same service the original Police dept. used in their days of owning this bike. I never ever had a problem with it and made the trip from San Diego, CA to San Francisco,CA twice on it in comfort.Since I bought it, I replaced both tires (with approved for Police use model) about 2000 miles ago. Also I didn't like the starter's sticking sound and replaced it about a month ago with brand new starter from BMW dealership in Santa Cruz, CA . I replaced the front shock with a new one too. I added a KISAN headlight modulator which is legal to use during daylight hours and on high beam. Right now bike is 100% in impeccable running condition. Next oil change is scheduled in after another 4,000 miles. Carb sync is just performed by the BMW dealership too. The only reason I am selling this wonderful motorcycle because I moved up to Northern California coast and I need to use the money to establish a living space for myself.As you may already know that all maintenance records are accessible at any BMW MC dealerships' computer by VIN. I checked it that way when I was buying it too. Clutch was recently replaced at the time I purchased. Normal and expected few tiny cosmetic scratches here and there from Police use are the only noticeable things when you look up close. From 10 ft away bike looks like a brand new one. A big plus for the looks of this bike is that it still has its emergency lights ( of course red/blue lenses are replaced with the amber color lenses ) but still in any city or highway traffic whoever sees the bike in their rearview mirror throwing themselves out of my way. At every junction I always offered priority to go ahead. On busy freeways 90% of the traffic follows me about a hundred yard behind. That helps to achieve a very safe ride. In CA as you know the lane sharing is legal. In dead stopped traffic, all the car drivers trying their best to open a space for me to pass as soon as they see me approaching. So far this RTP wins the title of the SAFEST bike I ever owned.Of course it also has ABS, Grip Warmers, Cruise Control and the usual Police version upgrades like high output alternator. extra 12V cigarette lighter adaptor for your GPS or any other accessory. An all weather bike cover is included. If you are an XXL helmet size I have an ARAI that I purchased for over $500 with built in Intercom, I will throw that into the deal as a gift to the new owner of this great bike! Also because of emergency lights are still in operating condition you may use it for special occasions with permit from the local authorities. For example I am a Patriot Guard Rider and at some soldiers funerals I used the lights while escorting and of course few times in my neighborhood I pulled over my wife just to give her a heart attack. Even though she knows what my bike looks like I still got her each time just around the corner from our home. Many officers wave at me when they pass by in other direction. I get a lot of compliments on the bike. This is my seventh bike throughout the years and until I ride the RTP I never understood why most of the US Police departments and those others in all over the world chose this bike. Well, again it was until I ride this bike... Once you're on it you will realize too. It is the most agile, easy to control, nimble yet balanced, solid feeling riding machine I'd ever been on. And I had Goldwing 1800, KLT1200, Valkyrie Interstate and many more bikes in the past. This one topped it all! I know the value of the bike, so please don't waste your or my time with low ball offer calls/e-mails... Out there older year models with 100k+ miles are selling for $3500 and you need to replace, starters, tires, shocks and few other things when you buy from them. That's why it may look strange but each side flashes a quick 3 and then other side does the same thing.
