Vehicle Detail

I am offering my hard to find low mileage Javelin SST. It currently has just under 42,000 miles. It has the P-code 360 4bbl, and automatic transmission. This car has a neat story behind it. It was purchased new by a woman in 1970. It was passed on to her son. Friends of mine bought it from him. I have owned it for 7 years now. I have most if not all of the receipts and paperwork since it was new, including the window sticker, the owner I.D. card, and the punch card build sheet. The factory brochure has her notes and options checked. It does have a clean Colorado title. It still wears it's original Brilliant Green Metallic paint with the factory White Side Stripe with Red accent pinstripe. It has the Vinyl Dual Canopy Top (t-top look). The paint still shines but is getting thin. It has rub throughs, scratches and dings. The stripes are cracked but still look cool. The grill is missing a piece, but I am told it can be repaired. The beautiful wide-wale corduroy interior is all 100% original and very nice. The original AM radio works great. The clock works but not always. It has a rare and unique add on A.C. unit on the passenger side below the grab handle. The compressor is currently off of the car and in storage. The engine is the un-rebuilt original . It currently runs an edelbrock intake and carburetor. I have the original intake, carburetor and air cleaner, etc. It has Keystone Classic wheels with BFG radial T/A tires on it now, and I have the original steel wheels and turbocast hubcaps. The original dual whitewall spare is in the trunk. The dual exhaust was replaced a few years back and it sounds awesome. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere tomorrow. The elderly original female owner had the passenger fender repainted in the early 70's. It was refinished with lacquer which dries out and cracks in arid western Colorado. This is a very dry car and the only problem rust is a fist size hole in the passenger side lower rear quarter. The tiny drain hole was plugged, rusting the outer sheet metal. The inner panel metal is not rusted through though. I do have a nice spare passenger fender for it. The rest of the car is free of any problem rust. The floor, trunk, doors, firewall are all solid and rust free. There is normal light surface rust on the suspension, and underhood as it has never been detailed. This beauty is not mint perfect, but it is an exceptional example of an unrestored, low mileage AMC Javelin SST. It is a fantastic driver as it is that gets a ton of attention. It would be an easy restoration if you so desired, but they are only original once. I never planned on selling this car, but times are tough.
