Vehicle Detail

Selling my beautiful 1960 MK1 Sprite in Iris blue with navy interior. The body is excellent with no rust or damage, the paint still shines and is really nice, it was painted before I purchased the car in 2001, I suspect the whole body and chassis was restored in the 1990's. The pan and suspension have no rust either and most parts have been replaced over the past 10 yrs (gas tank, brakes, tires, exhaust ect..) The interior is excellent and was professionally installed in 2004. The engine is a smooth running 1098cc, the transmission shifts nicely and the car is tight and drives well. I have many extra parts included in the auction : the hardtop needs to be painted, the brand new top needs to be installed, the top bows could use some paint. I had planned on installing a 1275cc engine and began to build one..the block is like new and all machined, the crank has been ground and maga-fluxed, I have brand new pistons and rods, new gaskets, re-worked head (ready for installation) and two ribbed case transmissions (that need to be checked out) ...I don't drive this car much anymore and have lost interest in the engine build, and the 1098cc that is in the car has plenty of power, it will bark the tires and I can cruise all day long at 65-70 mph. Check out all the pictures and ask me questions about anything you see or don't see. I have the bumper brakets but somehow I lost the bumper. What the car needs- You could install the heater (I have everything) the fuel gauge does not work, I never hooked up the oil pressure gauge (but I have everything to do so ) I know the car has good pressure because the engine runs great and has so for the past 10 years, I don't have the washer pump, the turn signals just quit, and it needs a horn..other than that I can't think of anything else. This is great old car that always draws a crowd and is fun to drive. It's a great way to get into the vintage British car scene, I just had at the British Festival in Des Plaines Il last week. I have driven it to Road America from Chicago and had no trouble. I have a clear IL title not in my name I never transferred it as I rarely drive-drove the car..If you are not comfortable with that...do not bid..call me with any questions..Thanks Tom 312-505-0781, the car is located near downtown Chicago... I can title the car in my name, it cost about $50 dollars and takes about a month to get it back from IL, and I have lowered the price....this is a great old Healey...I forgot to mention I have the side plexi-glass windows...
