Vehicle Detail
1969 Cougar Convertible with one-hundred nineteen thousand five hundred miles. The condition is good. I bought 2 years ago from the previous owner, a woman. She had it repainted the original color lite Aqua, not the greatest paint job, some flaking and touch-ups ,still a good looking muscle car.The top was replaced 10 years ago. There is some body filler in the rear quarters, around the wheel well and on the lower corners. The front fenders seem to be all metal. The rear bumper is bent up some, but not touching the car body, could be easily replaced, because the slight damage not affecting the brackets. The front bumper in good condition, a little surface rust and chrome loss where the water runs off the hood corners, normal spot. The floor pans are good, a little surface rust on the under side, the undercarriage is in good shape. Frame is good, it had factory undercoating and garage kept. The interior is quite good all original, the seats are very nice, there is factory seat belts, the carpet is good, and there were no floor mats when I bought it. The dash is very nice, no cracks, clean, not faded. The trunk is in good condition, the three factory decals are still on trunk lid, the factory trunk mat is present, white and black, stock. The spare tire and jack also in there. I try to buy one car a year to fix up and sell, but this one I have had 2 years. It was too fun having it to sell that year. I put about 500 miles on it. When I was looking to buy it, I went back three times to make sure I wanted it. The body looks good but it ran rough. As I know motors I knew what was wrong and decided to buy it. Within the first week of owning it I fixed a few things and had it running great. My testing of it had me doing 115 mph, now I knew it was ready to sell. I liked it more and more and kept putting new parts on it. It now is a real strong running car. It has a 351 290 Hp 2V carb, W/Fmx tranny. So to the new owner, these are the new parts-radiator,brakes [all hardware except lines and booster],shocks, idler arm, pitman arm, timing chain and gears, rebuilt distributor, rebuilt carburetor, new gas tank, rear tail lite sequential box, belts, heater core hoses, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, some vacuum lines, vacuum shift module, new transmission filter fluid and flushed, some fuel lines, new bushings and rubber on shifter, air cleaner, oil change W/ filter, 12v coil and thermostat. The car has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning[not currently working has hole in condenser] pump works that's how I found leak, power top W/plastic rear window, am radio. There is a few things that I was going to do but leave up to new owner, it could use--window weatherstripping for where you rest your arm, a new set of door hinges, and the hydraulic control valve assembly.I priced them to order and it's about $320.00. I have the complete five volume car manuals and a sixth one that's the preliminary shop manual, also with original owners manual.I also am including 2 John's Classic Cougar's Parts book's from Holland Michigan. The convertible pads and white convertible boot also included. I have a box in the trunk with some the old parts I replaced and a few new ones.I am third owner of this car. I have a little over $7,000.00 in the car but will sell for listed buy it now price. This is a standard convertible 5,796 made, engine code H 351 2-V, 2K lite aqua interior, E-lite aqua exterior, 27B Feb. 27, 41 Chicago Plant, X-code trans FMX.
