Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my CA77 1965 Honda Dream 305cc with 7,157 original miles and a clear Nebraska title in my name. First things first; story behind the bike: I purchased this bike from a gentleman in LaVista, Nebraska that had seven Honda Dreams, a CB77 Superhawk, and a CB72 Hawk. All of these bikes except one were torn apart, each in boxes. He had great plans of restoring them all. He told me he restored many more 60's Honda's over the years, choosing the best parts from his boxes for each bike. His favorite motorcycle was however the Honda Dream. He actually owned a bicycle shop and worked on the old Honda's in the evening. Well his health started to diminish quickly and he came to the realization that his motorcycle collection had to go. My brother was working on a CA77 at the time and took his gas tank to a guy for a pressure check to find a leak. The guy asked what the tank was off of and he said he knew someone that was selling his collection of Honda Dreams. So, we called the guy and his wife told us to stop over. It was quite a site seeing all of the old Honda's in pieces and nicely organized. I have seen a lot of shops with a lot of bikes, however not one with almost every bike torn down. He knew what everything was worth and where each piece was placed. He told us that he had been restoring these bikes since the late seventies. He carefully wrapped each part in shop towels and placed them in boxes, keeping each original bike complete. He had a corner with his “best bike” and these became the parts I wanted after a long talk and listening to his great stories. He told us of his plans for these parts and how he wished he could still work on his old Honda's. Felt sorry for the guy because he knew it was time to sell and wanted them to go to people that would restore the bikes. I have to admit I was fairly nervous about purchasing a Dream in boxes and he kept reassuring me a complete Dream was there. He even had an original set of white wall tires still wrapped in the wax coated paper which was part of the deal and are on the complete bike. The only thing he did not want to sell was the one set of original mufflers still in the box. He was going to put them on the one bike he was keeping for himself to ride. That was about six years ago now. I tried to call him to find out if he was still around and wanted to see the bike that came from his wrapped up parts in the "special corner" however I never heard back from the message left. Well it is time to sell this great bike because I have a few other motorcycles that need restoring. I have only put 200 miles or less on this bike since it was completed three years ago. I just rode it around Omaha today and people wanted to talk about it everywhere I went. Here are the details, please read thoroughly. As with all of my auctions, I try explain every detail so you know what you are bidding on. This is not a show bike, however it is close and always turns heads: 1) Body is in great shape and has been professional repainted after taking it down to bare metal. 2) Tires: as was stated they are NOS white walls and are in awesome shape, less than 200 miles. 3) Mufflers: these are a set of stainless steel remakes that Bill Silver sells, aka Mr. Honda. They were made by a small restoration place in Australia. These mufflers are great and will never rust out and cost over $600. 4)Speedo: The guy did not have a perfect speedo and wanted to provide the unit that came with his best engine. It is slightly faded, as you can see, however it has the original miles on the motor (7,157 miles as of today; I just rode it 10 miles and it ran great). 5) Motor: It is a strong runner and has not been rebuilt. It starts right up with the electric start or kick start and sounds great. There is no smoke, good compression and shifts great. I rode the motorcycle about 60 miles a couple of weeks ago to make sure everything ran ok. It was fun and one guy even pulled me over to look it over. 6) Carb: Clean, total rebuild, no issues. 7) There are a few very small dings: a couple in the top of the front fender, a couple on the bottom back side of front fender (see pictures). I may have missed a couple, it is not perfect. I tried to take good close up photos, please look carefully. 8) Electronics: All electronics work great including the horn, electric start, and yes the ultra impossible to find headlight works both high and low beam. 9) This motorcycle has a full chain guard and even the rare piece that covers the air box behind the battery. The chain guard is in great condition with no flaws. 10) Battery: The battery is over a year old and is the correct long skinny size. It has always been stored with a trickle charger, however they do not last much longer than a year and a half so it may need a new one sooner than later. 11) Side Covers: No dents or scratches, look great and knobs work good/look good. 12) Seat Cover: I left the original seat cover on because I like it better than the new ones. It has a small blemish on the lower right hand side, see pictures. It smaller than a dime and looks like a little glue was put on it so it did not rip any further. This has never been a problem and is hardly noticeable. 13) The bike has an NOS air filter and rubber tube between the carb and frame. 14)Title: The Nebraska title is clear and in my name. 15) You can find a YouTube video I uploaded the other day of it starting and running (see below). SEE MOTORCYCLE RUN ON YOUTUBE AT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vMkJyM4YJo I have been torn for a long time on whether to getting rid of this Dream. It is however time. This is a great bike that you should not pass up. CA77's in this kind of shape do not show up very often. Please feel free to ask questions, if I missed anything. The bike is priced to sell with a reasonable reserve. This is the sixth Honda Dream I have rebuilt and it is time for another project, so time to sell. As you can see I have a 100% feedback and I hope to keep it that way. The bike comes as is, with no warranty, and is as stated above. I do not have a problem shipping this bike after full payment is received. Shipping is however 100% the responsibility of the buyer. I would be more than happy to assist in this process. I will not pay your shipper or take over payment, this is your responsibility. I can take the motorcycle to forward air if you need and you can send me money for the straps they require or I can meet another shipper. $200 is due through PayPal within 24 hours of auction ending. The rest is to be paid in cash upon pick up or through PayPal if necessary. If shipping, full payment is due before the motorcycle leaves my house and if paid with a money order I need nine days for the payment to clear. I'm sorry for this; however I had a problem once with a money order. Again, I have perfect feedback, have sold many motorcycles over the years and believe in good customer service. Good luck, again this is a great bike, a strong runner, and something everyone will want to talk to you about on the road. Please ask questions, I will post the answers for everyone to see.On Sep-13-10 at 11:25:53 PDT, seller added the following information:Attention: I have purchased a brand new correct long/skinny sized battery for this bike. As was stated the battery in the bike is getting weak; I knew I’d be mad if I bought a sweet running CA77 and the battery was crap. So a new one is on its way to me and will be included in the sell price. Just in case the winner wants me to ship the bike, I will not fill the battery with acid. You will then just need to fill it when you receive the bike; this can be done at any battery shop. I will fill the battery with acid upon request, if the buyer is close and coming to pick it up. The old battery in it does still keep a charge and will start the bike, but it is weak. Good luck, again thanks for reading the full description.
