Vehicle Detail
For your consideration: I have for sale a very nice “restored” 1965 Mustang coupe. This car is nice and is ready to go to the show! The paint shines like a red ruby, the chrome gleams, the 289 engine runs strong, the automatic trans mission shifts nice, the car drives great, it stops great with a upgrade disc brake setup in the front and power assist , the Pony interior is all new, all gauges work, all lights work and its not a rust bucket. VIN: 5F07A361842 DOOR TAG: BODY 65A COLOR M TRIM 26 DATE 21 DSO 63 AXLE 1 TRANS 6 HSITORY: I am a full time car restorer, but can’t restore a coupe for the price I bought this car for. It was restored by a older man in a near by town for his wife. She never drove it, so they sold it to me. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand. The title matches the VIN on the body and door tag, but a 1 was placed at the end by mistake. I have a notarized VIN certification to correct this. Your state will issue the title without the 1 on the end. I am a small time licensed dealer with bonding. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No rust bubbles in the paint, no cracks in the paint, no rusted holes on the underside. The only repair I can find is a flat patch on the bottom of the right side, it was welded in and works good. The underside is great, no rust in the frame areas or floors. The bottoms of the doors look very nice, the rocker panels are nice. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? When I find a nice car at a fair price I buy it and make a few dollars. PAINT: Super nice paint “you will not complain”. Its PPG brand materials, a base coat/clear coat paint like modern cars. No dents, no dings and no scratches. When you look down the sides of the car it is very straight. The door jams, underside of trunk, underside of hood and all lips are paint very nice. The car was sanded and media blasted to bare metal before the paint was applied. The original color was not red, I can not find any signs anywhere of the past color and I did not look it up by the color code. The car looks like it was born bight red. CHROME: New or very nice condition. EMBLEMS AND BEZELS: All new. PANEL FIT: As good as factory, this means OK, but these cars did not come with a perfect show car fit. HOW DO THE DOORS, HOOD AND TRUNK CLOSE: They do as they should, they open and close good. INTEROR: All new, carpet, headliner, Pony seat covers, door panels, kick panels, dash pad and all the trim is neatly painted. The original consol is nice, but has a few pits. New instrument bezel. GLASS: New windshield, and all other glass good. The windows roll up and down good. WEATHER STRIPING/ RUBBER: All new or super nice. SOUND SYSTEM: The original radio is not working, new kick panels speakers made in and new antenna, past owner had never decided what radio he wanted. ENGINE: Rebuilt 289 with four barrel carburetor from the factory. It runs strong, has no rattles, no blue smoke and no bad leakes. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Dual exhaust with aluminized pipes, H pipe for sound and I think Turbo mufflers. It has a deep mellow sound, you can hear it, but its not real loud. COOLING SYSTEM: New radiator, new high volume clutch fan, new double pulley setup. TRANSMISSION: C4 automatic 3 speed that works right. BRAKES: New disc brake conversion on the front with a power assist booster setup. STEERING: Good steering, but it is not power. WHEELS AND TIRES: New 14 inch magnum wheels. TIRES: New looking Goodyear Wingfoot HP radials. LIGHTS: They all work. WIPERS WORK! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! HORN WORKS! LOTS OF NEW PARTS: Gas tank, sending unit, starter, radiator and many more. FOR LIGHTS: All new stuff and they work! GUAGES: They all work! PAPERWORK: I know what to do! I am a Tennessee licensed car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. The license and bonding is expensive for a small father/son operation, but need to make things legal and make them happen without problems. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM eastern time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles below Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT UNLESS THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT! WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. I am 63 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens for many years. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! US TRANSPORT: “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324. “open carrier only” US OR EXPORT: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. Call Steve at 913-749-0948 Email stevens@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75), so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake one. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is wire transfer. Option 4: Pay Pal is good, but it cost a lot. It cost me around 3%, so you will have to add 3% to the price. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspection have to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. WARRANTY: Come inspect, judge and drive the car all you want to because I do not offer a warranty on classic cars. TRADES: No trades, its to hard and my car will sell. BOTTOM LINE: I am asking $15,800 for the car and it takes $14,800 to buy it. I’m old and know the car game, ask and let people bargain you down. For real my low price is $14,800. I have sold lots of cars and know what a fair price is. All this car needs is a radio! Thank You,Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com
