Vehicle Detail
I bought this vehicle for my son in fall of 2007 in Rockingham North Carolina with 11,000 miles on it. It was considered totaled in 2000 when it was ran into sitting new on the dealers lot. It was hit in the front on the left side. I bought it from the man that originally bought it from the dealer as salvage. He had attempted to repair it, and knew nothing about auto repairs and even less about painting and did not really do too much with it other than a terrible paint job. He bought it for his wife to drive, who hardly put any miles at all on it. Our plan was to repair the car right, strip the paint off and paint it correctly. Here we are, three years later and have not had the time to do anything to it. This would still be a great car for someone to fix up. It still has low miles, no rust on it, and has a near perfect interior. Mechanically the car is sound. We installed two front headlights because of the paint overspray made them cloudy. Tires are about 70% spent (see photo) We recently had both front left and right ball joints replaced. The things that needed repair are; 1) New front bumper as is cracked, 2) new left front quarter panel (which we have a new panel) 3) cruise control does not work, 4) the air works great but the plastic nipple that routes the condensation out the fire wall panel is cracked off and we tried to extend it through the fire wall 5) hood is cracked, but I think repairable, 6) needs repaint as the overspray is terrible and is flaking off in various places. 7) It has a uni-body frame which is probably bent and should be straightened although the tires have not wore un-evenly and we have had no alignment issues with the car, so I am not sure you would need to do anything with the frame. If you need more photos please ask. The price is $2400 with no reserve. With some work by someone that is handy with auto repairs this car could look great with lots of years of driving left.
