THE FIRST THING IS THAT IT IS 1 OF 50 VIPER CLUB OF AMERICA(VCA) LIMITED EDITION. THE SECOND IS THAT IT HAS A HENNESSEY MOTORSPORTS VENOM 650R PACKAGE. WITH THE VCA PACKAGE YOU HAD TO BE A VCA MEMBER TO BUY ONE AND TAKE DELIVERY AT THE BARRETT-JACKSON CAR AUCTION IN SCOTTSDALE ARIZONA IN 2006. THE HENNESSEY PACKAGE IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND GIVES IT 650 HORSEPOWER. WE FELT A NEED TO TEST THE CLAIMED HORSEPOWER SO WE BROUGHT IT TO THE LOCAL RACESHOP WITH A DYNOJET CHASSIS DYNO. IT WAS A BIT UNFAIR BUT WE DROVE IT INTO THE SHOP IN 105 DEGREE HEAT AFTER A LONG DRIVE AND ONLY HAD 91 OCTANE GAS IN IT WHICH IS WHAT IS READILY AVAILABLE HERE IN ARIZONA. WITH A HEATSOAKED MOTOR IN THE SCORCHING DESERT HEAT THROUGH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS IT STILL PUT DOWN 515 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER AND 508 FT/LBS OF TORQUE. THAT IS AROUND 618 AT THE CRANK AND FACTORING 30 HORSEPOWER FOR THE SCORCHING HEAT IS RIGHT AT 650 HORSEPOWER FROM THE MOTOR.
