Here is the one you have been waiting for? 1949 English Ford Prefect in great running condition. Registered as a 1950 Serial number E493AFA. Engine number C527663. Now how do you describe this rare classic and what is it really worth? Well its here to sell ! First of all its very solid, does it need a full restoration? If you want to buy it and restore it then please do not even bid as you could pile a load of money into it and lose in the long run. Do you need an old basically untampered with old beast to fiddle with and take to the Brit shows and to bomb around in then this old beauty might be for you. First of all its solid, the frame is great and so is the body, the wooden floors are solid, the front floor pans have been replaced. Its fairly original and the paint is faded, the window and door rubbers are cracked and remember its old so if you can see it in person then please call me to see it and hear it run in person before even contemplating bidding. Now saying that, the engine has been taken out, cleaned stripped and checked and all gaskets replaced and it really does run great. The gearbox has also been rebuilt and the clutch does not slip. The rear diff assembly was taken out and all checked and new bushings were made for the outer axle shafts so the rear end is sound. The brakes were done as required and all the fittings have been replaced so the brakes work well. The front end has been rebuilt and is tight, all the gauges work and even the indicators work and light up. Four tires are new from Coker 500 x 16 BF Goodrich Now a bit more info. The gas tank was removed and lined and the lines also replaced as well as the carb stripped and cleaned etc. The rad was checked and cleaned all flushed and hoses replaced with new coolant added. Comes with a copy of the workshop manual and handbook. Lots of spares are also available including another body etc that can be negotiated separately with the lucky buyer.
