Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a recently completed 3 year total rotisserie restoration on a genuine 1967 GTX. Unibody chassis and all the body panels were stripped by hand to bare metal and refinished. Under carriage was then painted with por-15 under coating and sub frame connectors were added. The chassis/body was then painted back to it's original mm1 Turbine Bronze Metallic. Car came original with a 727 automatic floor shift. This was converted to an 833 4 speed prior to my ownership. Suspension: All components were disassembled, bead blasted, and painted to original color. All new ball joints, bushings, brakes, shackles and interliners were assembled and put back under the car. New brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank and original 26" radiator was recored. The 8 3/4 rear axel is the original and was refinished new seals and bearings were put in. The 2.76 open gear was changed to a 3.23 sure-grip. 440-Super Commando: The engine was taken to a professional engine builder, disassembled, bored .30, rebuilt using speed pro pistons and rebuild kit. New mopar cam shaft and oil pump were installed. The 915 heads were reconditioned with new guides and seals. Engine was reassembled and painted to original condition. The only components under the hood that are not original to the engine are the hooker ceramic coated headers, edelbrock 750 carburator and the mopar performance electronic ignition. Interior: New seat foam, seat covers (front & rear), headliner, carpet and thresholds were purchased from Legendary Interiors. Door panels, kick panels and interior chrome are original to the car and are in excellent condition. The bucket seat head rests are also original and in excellent condition (a very rare option!) Exhaust: 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust, flow master mufflers and 1967 style stainless steel tips. Glass: A new tinted windshield installed after exterior paint was finished, the rest of the glass is original to the car. All new weatherstripping, seals, channels, and fuzzies were also replaced during restoration. Exterior: Front and rear bumpers have been rechromed. Hood scoop bezels, door handles, and emblems are new reproduction pieces. New weld wheels and tires were added for a more muscular appearance, but I have the cars original 14 " rims and full chrome wheel covers that are in excellent condition. This GTX runs and drives like it did brand new! I spared no expense restoring this beauty! I also did not plan on selling this car, but I have found another mopar project that I want to restore.
