Vehicle Detail

TRUCK IN A NUT-SHELL: I have for sale a very nice driver quality 1968 F100 pickup, The truck is short wheel base with the wide bed, It is a very solid Georgia truck that drives, runs and stops great. The two tone red and paint looks good and is the perfect color combo for the truck. The engine is a strong running 302, the transmission a nice shifting 3 speed manual, the brakes disc in the front and drum in the rear. The tires are new looking Michelins and the wheels look good and are 15 inch. VIN: F10ACD33854 MILEAGE: 26484 reading and add another 100,000, but most everything has been replaced or rebuilt. HSITORY: I bought this truck from a man in northern Georgia, I loved the color scheme and it was a great deal. TITLE: The registration is Georgia number 994556090126037 MY DECRIPTION: Its with a critical eye, I'm telling you about the warts and pimples so you want be suprized when you see the truck. Sorry about making it sound not perfect, but you don't get a perfect truck for $4,600. Internet pictures can be very deciving! You are getting a good looking, good driving, good stopping, good running truck that is not a rust bucket. You want be suprised and you will have a keeper. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? This is a solid truck, it some tiny pin holes in the front right corner of the bed and one tiny rust crack in the flat part of the drivers floor (this is very small and thin). I could fix these easy, the bed just needs a 10 minute weld and sprayed with bead liner, I did not do this because people think I’m hiding something. The floor is a quick easy fix, it is not causing any problem, it is tiny (about 1/8 wide and 8 inchs long) some spray under coating would fill and hide it. The frame, all supports and all other panels are rock solid under my inspection. I am being critical, but you should know all the details. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WILL THIS TRUCK DRIVE HOME? I think it would drive anywhere, bring your tag and have insurance arranged. Most insurance companies give you so many days to get a new vehicle covered. PAINT: Good driver quality! By driver quality I mean it looks good, it shines good, it has no big dents and no rusted holes. Its not a $10,000 paint job, but its good enough to be proud of and drive for fun and use. No big dents or dings, just some touched up chips. CHROME: Again its driver quality, it has a few pits and is dull in some places on the bumps, but looks pretty good unless you give it a critical eye inspection. The grill and side stainless is not all dented up, but has some scratches and slight dulling. INTEROR: It really needs a seat covers and dash pad or cover. These are very usable, but the dash pad has some cracks and the seat 3 holes with black duct tape over them. They can be bought and are not real costly. GLASS: Good glass other than 1 stone chip in the low part of the windshield and a very faint wiper mark. The side windows roll up and down good, but will not go 100% of the way down because of the door speakers. SOUND SYSTEM: The radio did not come on, I have not checked it. ENGINE: A very nice running 302 with headers and dual exhaust. The intake is the stock 2 barrel with a good running Ford 2100 carburetor. COOLING SYSTEM: Runs cool, just had the radiator cleaned recently. TRANSMISSION: Nice shifting 3 speed manual transmission with the shifter in the floor. BRAKES: Good brakes, the front brakes have been converted to disc and the brakes are power assisted. STEERING: Truck drives nice! WHEELS AND TIRES: Tires are Michelin LTs and look new, the wheels are 15 inch spoked. LIGHTS: They work! WIPERS WORK! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GUAGES: The gauges are under the dash, the gas gauge is not working, I checked and it’s a bad sending unit, they are easy to install (you don’t have to pull the tank). If you hit the buy now and give me time I’ll put one in. I just forgot to order one. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? Good. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! I am a Tennessee licensed car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. The license and bonding is expensive for a small father/son operation, but need to make things legal and make them happen without problems. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM eastern time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles below Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT UNLESS THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT! WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. I am 63 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens for many years. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! US TRANSPORT: “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324. “open carrier only” US OR EXPORT: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. Call Steve at 913-749-0948 Email stevens@classiccartransport.com EXPORT: I like Trans Ocean Auto, they make it easy. 908-788-7001 transoceanauto@yahoo.com I also like Viking Transport, LLC, 757-727-7979 john@vikingtransport.net MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75), so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake one. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is wire transfer. Option 4: Pay Pal is good, but it cost a lot. It cost me around 3%, so you will have to add 3% to the price. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspection have to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. WARRANTY: Come inspect, judge and drive the car all you want to because I do not offer a warranty on classic cars. TRADES: Trades are hard! If you live close and are willing to drive your car to me and look I will consider, but I am only interested in classics “no cycles, boats or late model stuff! I can tell you in advance I probably will not trade. BOTTOM LINE: I'm selling this truck for a little less than I have in it. I have big car shows coming up and want the money to take with me. My bottom price is $3,850 and I'm asking $4,650. It takes $3,850 to buy the truck and it well worth it "come drive it home". Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com
