Vehicle Detail
The time has come to part ways with my beloved CRX....this one is the third one I have owned and all I can say is that once you own one of these cars you will be hooked with how fun these little cars are to drive. The ONLY reason this car is being sold is because we already have two other vehicles and I do not have the money to get this car painted...yes, it needs new paint. The Florida sun really takes its toll on the Honda red paint. The person who buys this car is literally going to have to pry the keys from my hands as I will miss this car dearly...ok, enough for the sob story....here are the details on the vehicle. I have EVERY receipt for each and every part or service that has been done to this car, so I can back up what I am saying about the car. I am the second owner of this vehicle. I purchased this car from a woman in 2000. She bought the car new and really took great care of the car. It had 165,000 miles on it when I bought it....I thanked her for breaking it in for me :-) The Details: Exterior: As you can see from the pics, the car needs some minor body work for dings & rust and then a fresh coat of paint. I was hit in the rear right side of the car in June of 2000 (no damage to the frame). The insurance company wanted to total the vehicle (only because cost to fix was more than blue book value), but I fought and fought to have them fix it...I did win and my CRX got some new body work, rims, and rear suspension work. Somebody tried to break into my CRX with some sort of screwdriver...there is a picture of the driver side door handle that shows the damage. I have front clear corners installed for the front turn signals, but will include the original turn signals with the car. Interior: MINT !!! The driver side seat has a small tear on the left side (very, very common on the CRX). I have put on seat covers to protect the seats as they are still in excellent condition. I installed an after-market Pioneer CD player a number of years back...nothing special, but works fine and I have the manual. I have after-market speakers in the front and rear...again nothing special, but anything beats the factory speakers. Engine: DO NOT let the mileage fool you. These cars will out live us with proper care and maintenance. The car runs EXCELLENT and did I mention it's fast. I have installed a cold air intake which really makes a difference in performance. New alternator and starter in June of 2002. New timing belt (finally gave out at 193,185 miles), water pump, cooling system flush, & valve cover gasket in January of 2008. Engine oil always changed every 3,000-3,500 miles. The car still gets anywhere between 30-36 mpg. Transmission: I do not know if the clutch was ever replaced by the previous owner, but I have never had to replace it. A/C: The a/c still works, but is showing signs of needing a charge. I have not driven the car much in the last 2 years so it is probably from lack of running the car. Suspension: Replaced both drive axles. Rear suspension fixed after accident in 2000. I added a front strut tower bar...adds a little better handling to the car. Exhaust: Installed Yonaka Motorsports exhaust in September of 2006 (only part I do not have a receipt for...think I bought it on Ebay). I've had people stop me to tell me how good the car sounds with this exhaust system. When driven sensibly you wouldn't even know that performance exhaust is on the car, but jump on it a little bit and it sounds mean. Enough said....nice exhaust system and nice sounding. Rims/Tires: Gonna need a new set of tires soon. The rims are stock, but in excellent condition. Two of them are newer as they were replaced when I was hit in 2000. I have tried to give as much detail into the condition of this car as possible. Again, this car is so much fun to drive and other than needing new paint is in great shape for its age. So that's it...if you are serious about buying this car then feel free to contact me.....thanks for looking at my ad. P.S. If you use Kelly Blue Book to estimate the value of a vehicle that is great, but KBB does not know what work was done to a car, what after-market parts have been added to a car, and more importantly, how hard it is to find a CRX in great mechanical condition....this car is now 21 years old!
