Up for auction is this fine looking 1986 Corvette. As you can see in the pictures, it is in terrific condition, considering it's almost 25 years old. I am a Realtor in my local town. This vehicle happens to belong to my friend who also happens to be my plumber. He acquired it about 8 or so years ago as payment for a bathroom remodeling job. It sits covered in his shop, 24/7/365 days a year, except for that one weekend it gets used. He pays about $600 a year to drive it basically 250 miles a year. He hates driving it, because it's so small, and he's so big!!! Not a match made in heaven, that's for sure! But it's in great shape, and it's time for it to go. I am selling it for him with NO RESERVE ! Over the last week or so, I've driven it about 150 miles or so. I can tell that it drives extremely well. It doesn't pull or shimmy what-so-ever while driving. It brakes well, with no brake pulsation. It doesn't smoke, or leak anything. There are no warning lights on of any kind. It shifts perfectly with no lagging through any gears. It has been re-painted at some point, but prior to my buddy owning it. The paint is spectacular, with no runs, drips, or errors! You can tell it was repainted by the tape marks on some of the rubber trim. If it were'nt for that, you'd never know. The interior is in good condition as well. The seats do have some cracking in the leather, but nothing horrific. There is some wear on the drivers left bolster from entering anf exiting the vehicle, but once again, nothing horrific (see pix). The dash is in great shape with no cracking. All pixels on the instrument cluster work as they should, as well as all the gauges. The air conditioning works as it should too. The pop up headlamps work flawlessly. The wheels are near perfect, with no road rash or pitting. The tires have @ 50 % life left all around. The top rattles while driving, but show me one that doesn't! Here is what I did notice that i will bring to your attention. 1- The removable hard top does have a stress crack in the corner. It was been repaired and sealed (at least 8 years prior). 2- The right side quarter panel (near b-pillar) does have some stress cracks in it (see pix). Left side is fine. 3-The weather stripping around the glass top and windows is showing it's age with some deterioration, but doesn't leak water. It has an aftermarket exhaust system which sounds great, not obnoxious. The rear window hatch pistons work as they should. There are no dents, dings, scratches, or fiberglass cracking (except for the previously noted quarter panel). Greenwood spoiler is in great shape. I am, by no means, a Corvette aficionado, but I do know cars! I have driven faster cars, but bang for the buck? For not a lot of $, you can have a great, well maintained Corvette!
