This barely used1959 Cadillac Series 62, has the original paint, we could polish it but I am sure we should just leave it as it is so the new owner will do whatever is more convenient for this treasure. It has allways been under a roof and it has been sitting in the garage for over 40 years, the actual owner is over 80 years now and has not driven it for ages. This Cad was once property of Ruiz Cortines, who was a president of Mexico, unfortunately there is no paper that indicates so, the actual owner used to be his neighbour many years ago and he obtained it by buying it from Ruiz Cortines who became his friend. It is the rare version that has the pancake roof, it does not have the post between front and rear side windows. This car is has a lot of factory options but it does not have air conditioning. The interiors that are 100% original and they have been smartly covered with special made covers so they are nearly mint. To get it started all we did was change the oils, put gas and a charged battery in it and the car started inmediately, it runs smooth as a Cadillac should, transmition shows no problem, it makes the gear changes nice and smooth, all it needs is an owner that will take advantage and good care of it. The Glass is good except for the pilots window that shows a crack on it. Chrome is good and solid but rear bumper on the left side had a five inch dent and some one pretended to fix but did not do a fine job, it is missing one plastic roof light cover and I can notice on the left rear door that has been fixed probably from this is all the damage it has. The floors and trunk are also solid in this car.We must consider this car has been in Mexico city for most of it's life, far away from the ocean or any salt so it has no rust on it, all it has is the normal deterior from being kept without use for so many years. I understand the original leather interiors are made of a very unique leather, I will investigate about it and add the information asap. With all the factory options the car has the vin numbers in the door jam. The car is not mine but please ask as many questions you have and I will try to answer them after I talk to the owner.
