Fly in and drive it home. I am selling my SL. This car is in beautiful shape and I have thoroughly enjoyed running it on nice days this summer. I bought the car from a fellow employee at work who has owned it since 1998. Look through the pictures and you should agree that the car presents wonderfully. The top works fine and is in perfect shape. It was replaced in 2002 when the original back plastic window cracked. The car has been garaged for the last 12 years, before that I do not know. This was a 4th car for the previous owner and an 8th for me. The odometer quit in the fall of 2007 but the owners were only driving it about 3000 miles per year at that time. The mileage is an estimate only but it is close. The AC will only hold a charge for a few weeks. If you fly in to drive it home, I will take it and get it charged before you arrive otherwise I will not. The tires have good tread on them but they are 7 years old. The spare is a brand new pirelli which I imagine is the original spare. The wheels are perfect. They were replaced in 2006 when the original chrome wheels started flaking slightly. The engine runs like a top and you will not be disapointed. If you look at my feedback, I have sold a number of vehicles on Ebay over the years and I have represented them well. The hard top is perfect on the exterior and the headliner is delaminating (Not sticking to the roof, you have to push it up) but is very functional, I only used it to bring the car home and it has never been on again. If you want the hardtop it is yours, if not I will sell it individually. The interior is near perfect. The leather is still nice, the carpet is great. All in all, an excellent example of the era.
