Great Car to own ! This is an EYE-CATCHING 1968 MGB GT !! Priced under it’s market value of $12,000 !!!! This sharp little MGB GT received a nice complete restoration 5 years ago and has been garage parked its whole life! Although the car looks very nice, there are a few small flaws in the paint from driving it is typical of a 5 Year-Old Restoration! But keep in mind; this car will definitely get tons of people who will point, stare, and even give the occasional “Thumbs Up!”…I GUARANTEE IT!!! The interior was completely refurbished and shows VERY-VERY Nice! It has the correct vinyl seats, carpet, and yes…even “MG” Floor Mats! Everything is stock in this little GT except for the stereo which has been upgraded with an aftermarket Am/Fm CD Player with iPod/ i touch adapter. New Brakes, New Tires with Rare Complete Chrome rims in new condition. Under the hood of this MGB is the factory original numbers matching 4-Cylinder Powerplant which is mated to a 4-Speed Manual Transmission! Not only does this MG Look Great…but it RUNS – DRIVES – and PERFORMS just as Good as it Looks! At the time of restoration, the engine was rebuilt and now has only 3000 miles added since the rebuild. So here it is…a SUPER-NICE 1968 MGB GT “CHROME BUMPER” 25,000 miles on the speedometer! Check out the Book Value…Compare it to the other Market Comps…this MGB is an ABSOLUTE STEAL-of-a-DEAL!!! It cost more to restore this beautiful car than the price it is listed here. - 1800cc engine with 3000 miles on rebuild. - Restored seats, carpet kit, and MG rubber mats - New Clutch was installed at time of rebuild. - Beautiful chrome spoke rims with New Goodyear tires - 2 rebuilt weber carburetors - repainted in original MG yellow This MG is in fine mechanical condition. not a bit of rust anywhere on this 42 year old car... this car is almost show quality as it is a beautiful driver that has people saying "Wow! nice Car" and a really nice example of a well maintained MG. Just get in and drive it! This a Highly desirable year and is exempt from smog certification (older than 1975). This is also the perfect year for performing a V8 conversion, as this car left the factory ready to accept the Rover V8 engine. Low in price, high in fun factor. I have a ton of pics, send me an email and i will send you a link to view these. Should you want to personally inspect this car or have it inspected by a mechanic make an appointment by email or phone i will be glad to accommodate you. On Aug-29-10 at 17:02:38 PDT, seller added the following information:Some questions i have received and answered: Can you tell me how long you have owned your GT? I have owned this MGB GT for a year and a half I paid $8,000 for it, the person that I bought it from owned it for 5 years and drove it on the weekends around town and a few trips to San Francisco and Napa in it, He paid $9300 and got it from the person that restored it. (I am selling it cause I want a 68-73 convertible corvette stingray and the wife says I can’t have both) Has it been in any accidents? I do not know if it has ever been in an accident the car is 42 years old and i am not the original owner with inspecting the vehicle I cannot see any welds or replacement parts such as fenders, hood or anywhere else, the car is really straight. Looking at the undercarriage I also do not see any rust or replaced pieces, patches or damage. Any body work done at the time of the restoration (filler? floor pans? rocker panels? dog legs?)? and who did the restoration? Again it does not look as if anything has been replaced, if you look under the car there has been no replaced parts or body panels, I pulled back the carpet of the floor board and the floor pans look as they have never been replaced and not a hint of rust anywhere. The previous owner told me that the owner before that was a mechanic by trade and bought this car at an estate sale. He replaced the upholstery and put a carpet kit in it as well. The car does show evidence of being painted and there are a few little road nicks but very small, the top of the car has a few nicks where the paint has come off, it was explained that the previous owner placed a small can of paint stripper on the top of the car for a moment and there is very small “spots” the size of an eraser head on the drivers side roof ( I will send photos) its too bad cause the car looks perfect otherwise. It was estimated by a local paint shop $300 to repair What remains to be done? Engine work (any significant leaks)? NOTHING needs to be done to the engine transmission clutch or otherwise. Looks like a new engine with no wear and does not leak anything the engine is very sound. The engine well is very clean. I just gave it an oil change 2 weeks ago (60 miles ago) How is the suspension? I was told that the brakes and shocks were replaced at the time of restoration. The brakes have plenty of pad left and the rotors still look new, this car handles wonderful and is a blast to drive. Where can I locate additional photos? I will follow this email with a link to view a photo album of all the pictures I took last Sunday This car is awesome and it is very rare to see another one on the road, within the last year and a half that I have owned it I have not seen any MGB GT’s on the road. I have people all the time ask what kind of car is it? or who makes MG ? I had some one yesterday ask if it was an old Ferrari, everyone shares the same tune that it is a beautiful car and is in amazing condition for a 42 year old car, looks brand new Should you have any additional questions let me know. If you are local come by and take it for a spin you will want to buy it immediately. If you wish, call a local mechanic of your choice I will take it there to get it inspected. It will be $$ well spent and you will not be disappointed in the great feedback you will receive from the mechanic.if you receive a non-favorable inspection report i will pay for the inspection, that is how confident i am of the car and it's description Good luck bidding !
